I play a '57 Reissue Strat through a Hot Rod Deluxe and for effects I use a Roland DD3 Digital Delay and a Roland MT2 Metal Zone (with the distortion very low) along with an ample amount of reverb from the amp. I also play with my fingers and my favorite pickup position is the 2nd.
I'm obsessed with his sound and tone and want to emulate it as close as possible. I know that much of what contributes to a players style is their technique, and I've gotten quite close to his, but what else can I do?
Any suggestions? Amp setup? Effects? Etc?

Thanks

I haven't tried the info out, but this site may be helpful:

Get a line 6 pod x3 live. There is a patch programmed into it called the " money for nothing" patch. its perfect! plus you can make patches so you can obtain close to almost any other sound imaginable!

Hi reproendoman, welcome to the Forum.

We discuss Knopfler's tone from time to time, the most recently on this thread, just the other day:

http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=34812

That started off specifically about compressors for the early Straits sound, but other stuff was covered too.

'Course, MK has a lot of different sounds and has used a ton of different gear to get them. So there is no single answer to your question...

Cheers - C
