The vibe / hype / vicarious thrill / advertising can draw you in.

The lure of becoming part of "it," experiencing "it" and "riding with" the Fender crowd can be greatly appealing.

Personally enjoying truly excellent musical tools of self-actualization is hip enough to keep you there.

That was very poetic....now i'll have to figure out what it means..... but i do want to buy a phone from Eric Clapton with the Fender logo on it.

Which is funny because the phone is crap compared to other smart phones. But just to have the logo....

I think i'll just order a custom case for my Iphone.

Why are you a Fender player? Gibson is an equally established brand favored by many famous musicians, and their is quality well-known, PRS is an up-and-coming power player, and several other companies make decent guitars (Schecter, Ibanex, BC Rich, Minarik). So why do you play Fenders?

I like fender teles as they just feel right, the c shape neck the tone you get out of the pick ups and the woods they use.
I have other guitars made by other brands too but i prefer fender for all round use.
Gibson sometimes the necks are a bit to chunky and make it a bit more difficult to play more intricate stuff and ibanez have majorly thin necks and its sometimes like playing with a piece of cardboard (depending on the model), fender however are right in the middle and the modern c shape neck just feels perfect for me.
From the other brands you mentioned I have played on them all except a minarik and they are alright but fender just have something special about them. I think they got it right first time with the first solid body guitar (the tele) and its still as relevant and popular as it always has been with rock, country, blues, jazz and many other styles.

i still haven't really found a favorite brand but i gt my mustang because, being the size i am, the smaller neck helps A LOT and i looooove the sound of the pups for clean stuff (and some heavy stuff with the distortion pedal high enough).... that being said, i love my dean and my schecter just as much and my pre-fender buyout ovation is my favorite guitar of all time 8)

In my own words here is Why Fender: The soul of Tone, the feel of 60 years of music legends who made everyone's life better, the way I can plug my Fender Teles into my Fender amps and know that I am playing the instruments that the music gods brought down and gave to us mere mortals! Because when I play a fender, I can't go wrong!

Besides... it's just cool as all heck to watch TV and see some guy like Clapton on stage playing a black Stratocaster and being able to look across the room at my own.

Like a lot of people the look of the telecaster got me. They look cool. That's what draws you in and then you play one and your search is over. I love the twang and the feel of the small, silky neck. VT BlackStrat brought up an excellent point about seeing your favorite guitarist playing a Fender. It's cool seeing Shawn White riding the same board and Phil Mickelson using the same driver as me...

I like all of my guitars, but my Strats seem to have an, "I'm glad you're home. Let's play!" feel to them.

I have played many different brands through the years and have always come back to Fender or FMIC guitars time after time.

PRS--Great looking guitar, but if I am going to pay that kind of cash on a guitar, might as well be a Gibson.

Gibson--Nice guitars, bit pricey. I had a V back in the 80's Awesome!!

Ibanez--played a few, never liked the necks. They were a but too thin.

BC Rich--Has a Warlock until a year and a half ago. Very nce guitar for Metal, but my taste in music has evolved a bit to include Blues and Classic Rock. Not the best guitar for that.

Schecter--Cool guitars, but IMO the sound is better suited for Had Rock and Metal.

Jackson--Love them. I would own one in the future. I used to own one in the 80's. It was a V. Nice shredding guitar.

Fender--Is a well rounded guitar. I have a Stratocaster on which I can play any thing from Metal to Blues, Classic Rock to Country.

This is why I choose Fender.

Easy, I like the way the Strat balances when I play it. The guitar sits just right and is comortable as heck, kind of like its supposed to be there. I've got one in S-S-S and one in H-H-H (yup I modded it to TRIPLE FAT). Now there ain't nothin' I can't play. :D

Mainly, because Fender single coils are good for rhythm.

I love mostly all brands of guitars just like I find women of different nationalities attractive. But I only have one wife.

I play Fender's for very some very good reason's. First, and foremost, I'm a lefty. There isn't another solid brand that produces this wide of a range of left-handed guitars. While I don't have all the variety righties do, I have more than most with Fender guitars (Paul Reed Smith has openly stated that he couldn't care less about left-handed players).

Second, Fender sound is a staple. Rooted in our minds, when we consider the foothold that Fender sound has made in musical pop culture. From Stairway to Heaven, Jimi, Clapton, SRV, The Beach Boys, Dick Dale. Their versitility is ongoing.
