I've been saying over the past while that I'm having major GAS pains so I went out this morning and did something about it.I tried several Strats including an Aerodyne and a Les Paul also but the one that had the feel and sound that really blew me away was an Olympic White Jimmy Vaughn, I was trying it through a Blues Jr. Amp and they sounded so sweet together that I didn't have the heart to seperate them. What a sweet sounding combo. When I brought the Strat out to pay for it I found out that Jimmy himself had actually played that very guitar.A Fender Rep who's a good buddy of the owner had the guitar at a store as part of a display for Fender Days,it so happened that Jimmy had a gig there that week and was in the store. He spied the Strat and said "Look one of my guitars."picked it up and played a few riffs on it.After Jimmy put it back the rep took it and kept it seperate from the rest so he could give it to his buddy who owns the store where I bought the Strat. So I have another Strat that was touched by famous hands.(My 50th Ann. is signed by Marty Stuart.I'll post pix later but right now I have to go play with my toys.

I have a Blues Jr. and all my guitars sound good through it. Good luck with your decision.

I'm bringing the amp back this morning as it's black and the one I tried in the shop was a limited edition blonde tweed model that cost a bit more. Last night I reconsidered and decided to opt for the blonde even though its about $50 more it would suit the Olympic White Strat better.Another reason is that to my ears the blonde had a warmer tone and a bit more oomph,I've seen a few amps of the same model sounding different and it's probably the case in this instance.Anyone else have the same experience?
I know that whenever I bring my JCM 800 2204 model in for new tubes the techs without exception say it's the best 2204 they've heard,so I guess the same could be true with Blues Jrs.I have to wait for my computer tech buddy to come over to post pix, with any luck I'll get them up tonight.

Nice score Guit, I never hear anything but good about the Jimmy Vaughns. Everyone that has one has nothing but the highest regards for them.
