I've posted this before but...

This was 1980 I think; backstage after a Who show. All four are in the room though Daltrey and Entwistle are out of shot (Kenny Jones, left, had recently replaced the late Keith Moon), and this blurry shot was taken a second or two before Townshend finally decided I'd made such a pain in the neck of myself he abruptly pushed me out and shut the door in my face.

Lesson learned...

I used to know one of Johnny Lydon's (nee Johnny Rotten) drummers a bit, a gentleman by the name of Richard Nother. And through that connection can make the claim to fame that I once slept in the same bed as Joe Strummer. A mere two weeks after he'd vacated it - I was promised the sheets had been changed.

For those few here as have heard of him I used to chat to Ian Dury back stage in a theater where I was working mid-80s. Though I probably talked more to his enormous minder, Strangler.

Ooo - and I once stood at the stage door of that same theater while Brian May called to collect his wife, actress Anita Dobson. Enough to know that they obviously share the same hairdresser: when they lent together for a kiss it looked like a messy bush with four legs...

In May I'm supposed to be at some do where I get to meet Joe Bonamassa. If it happens I will be SURE to mention it round here... :D

Cheers - C

Slash is a really nice guy, like really nice. All the Guns guys are.

I haven't met any of Aerosmith though, I'd love to! 8)

I've had the good fortune to meet both Robby Krieger and Neal Schon. They were both guests at a hotel I used to work at in NYC. I didn't get to speak all that much with either one of them (I felt it would be kind of unprofessional to approach either one of them as a fan), but from the brief interactions I had, both guys seemed seemed to be pretty cool. Robby, in particular, was very nice. He asked me for directions to the Statue of Liberty and that led to a 5 minute conversation in which I got to mention that he was a big inspiration for me when I first got into guitar playing.
