I met Danny Gatton back in '91 and it was a great experience. My guitar teacher's band opened for him at a club in NYC and we met him and his band in a backstage room afterwards. He really was a gracious gentleman. He offered me to try his Tele, but I wimped out after seeing his earth-shattering performance. Got his autograph too, I pulled a promo poster down off the wall.

I got VIP passes, so I could go backstage.

Hey Bill,

He had his second run in the woods today, the vet said it was OK to let him run off leash yestreday. As you can imagine he's a very happy pup today  The wound has healed up very well, thanks for asking buddy 8) Hope things are good with you too, cheers :D

Hey Snowy,

Glad to hear about your dog, I've been meaning to ask how he's doing? You had said they had to remove the pad, does that grow back or just heal over?

Hey Kong,

The vet did have to remove the top of his pad, he almost sliced it off himself anyway. It was a real mess initially, the amount of blood he lost was amazing. She said it would grow back fairly quick, she was right thank goodness. It's still a pink color, but it should be back to black (scuse the ac/dc ref  ) in a few weeks. He is off all the meds, eating well, and back to being a mad springer!

I met Willie Dixon and had a 10-15 minute chat with him,he was one of my all time heros.I've met Marty Stuart a couple of times and got him to sign a Strat and a Tele.I used to hang around a local music store in the mid 70s where a lot of musicians would gather on Saturdays to chew the fat,it was there that I met Brian"Loud"McCleod the guitar whiz from the Canadian band Chilliwack and the founder of the Headpins- a group he had to put together after an album he recorded playing all the instruments himself went platinum. The guy was an incredible talent and a geat guy who never let his stardom go to his head,he always remained very friendly and down to earth.Sadly Brian died of cancer in the mid 90s.

The above post that mentioned Glen Frey was arrogant says alot.
How many people have met a hero only to find the person was a complete jerk...I'm sure quite a few. That really gripes me to hear about those.

Although he wasn't one of my heroes,I met Michael McDonald of the Doobies one time and talked to him for awhile....he was really nice.
It makes you like them more.

I've met a fair share of Film and Television folks in my line of work. Off topic but since he had his guitar in the Edit room and let me have a play, i will say that Edward Burns from Saving Private Ryan is one of the Nicest folks in that world that i've met. He was very down to earth. VERY friendly, and even remembered me when i passed him at a new facility i was working at about 9 months after i left the previous one. That said a lot for him to remember the guy that didn't spend much time in the room other than to fix their Edit system when it was running a muck.

Yeah he was a car guy too. I remember him telling me he had just bolted all the chrome parts onto that car for the picture. The pic was used as the album cover for 88 Elmira St I found this version of the picture on the web. Mine has the mailbox but not the row houses on the left. Pretty cool.

I served as translator for Chick Corea, and met and hung out for a bit with Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars. My son knows all of the guys from New Found Glory; they are local to us, and Mike has played at their parents' studio.

I met Rik Emmet Back in the 90s. He was a real jerk to me. I took it in stride though. I told him he looked MUCH taller on stage :P

I also met Mark Kendall from Great White. Real calls act.

Just for the record, I think Rik Emmett is one of the most under rated guitarists i have ever heard, live or in studio.

As a matter of fact, i think Rik Emmett is one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

I would put him in the top ten for sure.
