i had a rare 14 ounce ribeye last night.

Good man wi the title change. The Bhuna was lovely!

It really does make you think. I'm not much of an animal guy except for dogs which I love but if we do have the ability to do things more humanely then why don't we?

It's a crazy world but I love my meat too much to call protest and be a vegetarian. My last 2 girlfriends and Hitler were vegetarians, maybe I just dislike them.

Well I know cruel methods exist, and as far as propaganda anything done in the US would have to periodically have inspectors come in to check the places out for violations so I would believe these extreme cruel methods are probably from foreign countries as I believe the method here is the bolt gun.

I do not like the cruel methods, the faster the better.

It is not cruel, you have to read my other post. better yet here I will say it again. It is done this way around the World it is a Jewish Kosher way.

I think the original poster should learn the meaning of KOSHER!!!! Jewish rules prohibit the eating of an animal that has been killed by another or died of natural cause. It must be killed by cutting the throat in a certain location at the trachea and veins and bleed to death. At slaughter houses the person that performs the slaughter is a Rabbi or a pious Jewish person.
A few miles from my home is one of the largest Kosher meat suppliers on the east coast, they have full time Rabbi's there that do this. The other cattle are put down by the use of a bolt. An air gun that drives a bolt like rod into the head as being shot and put down

My ancestors on my mother's side are all Austrian. Her father came over as an immigrant and bought a dairy farm. Of course they raised all their animals for slaughter.

It was common practice when a hog was butchered that a bunch of the older boys and men folk would gather around the hog and hold it while it was stuck in the neck with a knife so they could catch the blood in order to make blood sausage. To not do that would have been considered wasting a delicacy.

Just a bit of history there. 8)
