Most people on here seem to have the obligatory gear list as their sig (myself included), but a few brave souls dare to be different by posting something creative, meaningful and/or funny instead. As a show of appreciation I felt the need to post some of the best that I have seen in my short time on this forum. I did not include whose signature they are out of modesty toward the owners, but you know who you are.

Here they are in no particular order:

"Life is like eating jalapenos. What you do today may burn your arse tomorrow"

I didn't Lose my mind, I traded it for this guitar.

"I'm a guitarist not a rocket scientist"

I'd rather die while I'm livin' than live while I'm dead!

The blues ain't nothing but a good man feelin' bad.....

I'd rather be rich than famous. Looks like I'm screwed all the way around.

I really like all them "Aster" guitars. You know, like the Stratoc, Telec, and Jazzm.

If you didn't see yours here don't feel bad, as I said I've only been on here a short time and probably just haven't ran across yours yet.

If anyone out there knows of any other signatures that should be included in this "List of Honorees", feel free to post it here (please do not post your own sig).

For all of you listed above (and those who will be listed later), I thank you for your creativity. Keep up the good work.

Bill

Thanks. I've been thinking about it for awhile.

BTW I really liked your sig, but decided not to include it in my list because it was a quote from someone else. This post is about showing appreciation for originality otherwise yours would be here.

Great post. I went 6 for 9 in matching the quote to the member.

Hi FBRN, and welcome! Thanks for including me in the list. My signature grew out of an actual conversation I had with a hardcore Gibson fan. I told him I was planning to buy a dual-humbucker Tele to add to my Strat and Jazzmaster. He asked why I wouldn't just get a Les Paul if I wanted humbuckers. My answer was, "No, I only buy guitars that end in 'Aster.'" I changed my forum signature the very next day.

Funny, but I've also been thinking lately about changing my signature. What do you think of this one?

Just like the optimistic bluesman says: When life hands you a lemon, squeeze it till the juice runs down your leg.

Or maybe not...

In any case, I'm honored to be in your list! 8)

Cool thread; in a similar vein, I have this on my whiteboard for my 6th grade students who act out...I teach history

"Sandbox and recess time are like world history...they are in the past!"

I change mine from time to time as well. Some times it's a picture, some times a cool quote, and some times it's the standard gear list.

RIght now it's a quote from Pink Floyd.

As all here are Honorees in no particular order
Here is a show for your appreciation Bill

Absolutely. Let people who've been around longer than you help you. That way you learn more and it keeps you humble.

I think that the best piece of advise anyone's ever given me about guitar is to do it because you love it. Not for any other reason, but there really aren't very many other reasons. I've only made about $140 a hamburger and a glass of lemonade from playing guitar and I've been playing four years. Groupies are a myth. Playing guitar to attract people to you is a myth. The only guys that hit on me are very drunk (not to mention very old and extremely stupid). And instead of fame I've just made some really good friends who are also musicians over the years. But I think I'm a lot happier than a lot of people who are chasing fame. I don't have the pressure of living up to unrealistic expectations of myself and I enjoy playing much more than someone who does. Smile

I just found a new one.

"Play like you're in first, practice like you're in second."

Thanks guys for the interest in my thread. Before I had only commented on other peoples posts and I'm happy with my first official contribution to the forum. (Even though it is just something to help everyone pass the time)

I have to say Miami Mike's quote works for me.
It really says alot and I can relate to it. The quote I have is universal and reserved for my favorite sunday comics character..nothing special. BTW nice thread idea. 8) -N
