there is a rise and fall with every kingdom, country, economy and company. without a fall there would be no way to equal out the rise.

my dad's old 85 chevy blazer was recalled a few times, my mom's 95 ford windstar was recalled a few. my dads 89 camry was never recalled, his 01 tacoma never was, neither has mom's 04... i traded my 93 ranger for a 05 scion xA, and so far it has been great. in a few years i plan on trading for a silverado, but this has nothing to do with the current toyota scare/scandal.

i say, give em a few more months, if the problem is fixed then all that will be left is a lot of over dramatization by the media and crazies on forums that spread rumors... jk. lol

Obama is doing a Hell of a job maybe he should get back to Washington and start doing something about jobs. Stop campaigning and telling us how great Obamacare is for America! 1 1/2 years wasted when the economy is still tanking. Unemployment rose in 27 states in March, Maryland lost 14,000 jobs in the month.

leave it to cvilleira to turn a thread about toyotas problems into a rant about the obama administration.

obama took office on january 19, 2009. it is april 2, 2010 today. how does that add up to 1 1/2 years?

yeah and obama is to blame for all the current economic misery. it had nothing to do with eight years of george bush and the trillons of dollars he has thrown down a rat hole in iraq, the fostering of corporate greed over the public good (remeber enron?), and the promotion of relaxed finance and banking regulations (credit default swaps, and the sub prime mortgage mess).

obama didn't create the mess he is just trying to clean it up. if anything obama hasn't been tough enough on the banks and the finance companies.

are you suggesting that if john mccain had been elected that the economy would be hunky dory right now?

as ronald reagan once said...there you go again.
Sorry 1/14 years and yes Obama has done nothing in that time but campaign and travel around the world accomplishing nothing. World leaders have no fear of him, look at Iran, Korea, Venezuela just signed agreements with Russia for military support against the U.S. even.

since when is the sale of military hardware by one country to another thought of as an agreement for military support against another country? apparently venezuela purchased some helicopters from the russians and no agreements for russian military support were made. get your facts straight.

Captain eyeball perhaps you need to turn CNN or the Mao news network off. You feeling feisty since they closed your ACORN office? I lean conservative and you are as liberal as they can get so we will never agree. I vote for either Dem. or Rep. who ever I think is best I be willing to bet you vote Dem. Party line no matter what. A member of the cattle following the bull no matter how bad he stinks.
.

Sorry the Dem. Party of the sixties and seventies are no more they have been highjack by socialist we no whats best for you people.
This Country is more divided now under Obama then it has ever been and the divide is widening, this is the man who was going to bring us together what a joke on those who believed that one. Our greatest risk is from within and all we can hope for is that some stand strong and hear the will of the People. I have seen more people protesting in the last year then I have since the sixties. At the march on Washington in November I seen crowds the size of the sixties marches

Hardly curtains yet...

Agreed! I just bought an '10 Tundra maxcab yesterday. With the current incentives I saved 8 grand over a comparable Ford and get almost double the fuel milage. When you burn $200 a gas in a week that means A LOT!

Almost double the mileage? Not doubting, but that's hard to believe. Good for you if it does though.

When I hook up to my trailer I get roughly 7 miles per gallon in my F-250. I hooked the same trailer up to a demo tundra and after a 30 mile test haul got roughly 11 miles to the gallon running on the bottom half of the gas tank. So yeah, thats pretty significant!

I even went and looked at Tundra's but of the two dealers around me none had 8 ft. bed trucks in stock and all where four door. Don't want a four door and need 8 ft. bed. We were just thinking of taking advantage of the deals even though we do not need. My Ram has only 40,000 on it so we thought we might just add one to the fleet. My Ram averages 12mpg at best and the new Rams have that cylinder deactivation system in the Hemi's  don't want that either so we are now leaning if we go for it a Ford. Leaning I say because three months from now for the first time in over 30 years we will have no payments and half that time were two, it might be nice not to have one for a while.

I loved my Ford! In 8 years the only service I had done (outside of the routine stuff like oil change, air filter and brakes) was to replace two of the ignition coils (each spark plug had its own ignition coil) did a tune up at the same time for a total of $600. My Ford served me well for 8 years pulling 5,000 lbs 5 days a week 10 months out of the year(3 years after it was paid for). However; I wanted the 4 full doors and no longer need the 8' bed. Dollar for dollar the Toyota was the better deal for me. Besides, I still have 2 other Ford trucks.

The last 30years I have bought all foreign brand cars but my trucks have been American. Not much on the new GM's and don't Like what Dodge did to the Hemi in the new ones. Fords do looks nice and ride same. I still love the Hemi Ram with a long bed that I have now. I am always on the look out for a deal thats why I looked at the Toyota but the four door family trucks they had remind me a city truck cruisers. I don't need a back seat in my truck all I need is and 8'2" bed in the back so it can be used as a truck. I have cars for My family cruisers.

You didn't keep the Tacoma long enough then. Our 2001 Tacoma has had 3 different recalls.

I remember having Toyotas in the family for years, I drive one- and its the best car ive ever owned. ( I have a ZT Wagon)

Is it curtains? highly unlikely. The did report their first financial loss recently in many, many years.

The same was being asked about GM recently- a giant corp doesnt sink so easily I say. It's like sinking the Titanic in a bathtub.

B :)

Every manufacturer has recalls. If you're wondering about a vehicle you may have just google your make, model and year with the words Technical Service Bulletins. You may be surprised what you find.

Of the current three Honda's in the household we have had one recall, and My Dodge ram had one.
