I hate to be the one to issue a bone of contention but....
Floor mats can cause problems in atleast every car I've ever owned.
Infact its the first thing I throw out of the drivers door.

I don't see any contention at all. We're saying the same thing.

You know thinking about it I believe the 05' and 09' honda have clamps under the seat that hold the mat in place through a hole in the mat. I no the 99' honda and the 02' Ram truck don't though. Have the Honda Per. Mugen mats in the 09' and the 99' and those heavy mud mats in the Ram. Carpet mat in Accord.

Note: GM/Pontiac are on the recall list too. As I stated earlier, Toyota and GM are partners and Toyota builds certain GM models. I don't see any grand scheme to help GM here. This could actually do more harm than good for them.

From what I have read Toyota and GM dissolved their partnership areas last year.

That's what I heard as well.

I hadn't read about that. Still, there are a lot of Toyota built GM vehicles on the road.

California Toyota plant closer.

Quote;
A new report says it will cost California taxpayers $2.3 billion to replace jobs lost from the closure of a factory that makes Toyota cars and trucks.

The report released Wednesday also says the layoffs that result from closing Fremont-based New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. will translate to a loss of $90 million in state and local taxes.

The report was prepared by a University of California, Berkeley professor for a panel studying the economic effects of closing the plant. The facility employs 4,600 and supports about 25,000 other related jobs in the state.

Toyota says it will stop production at the plant April 1. The decision came after GM, a partner in the factory, shed its share.

Earlier Wednesday, Toyota announced it will spend $250 million on bonuses to assist employees at the factory.

End quote;

Slap the hand that feeds you!!!! You get the reward!!!!
I guess Obama's people will say it was only 25000 jobs not that bad!!!!

I say this because of there statements that last month we only lost only 36000 jobs for the month yesterday that shows there plans are working. Any of these Obama idiots think it could be just there are not that many more jobs to be lost since 15 millions plus have already been. Logic tells me the more that have been lost the less there are to loose. This dude is in so over his head its crazy 14 months of healthcare party fighting, in fighting and Americans are fighting to find jobs and millions have lost them plus another 36000 if you believe that number. Thanks Barack Hussein Obama and Congress job well done.

Toyota closed it's California plant today, 4,700 more people out of work.
Obama is doing a Hell of a job maybe he should get back to Washington and start doing something about jobs. Stop campaigning and telling us how great Obamacare is for America! 1 1/2 years wasted when the economy is still tanking. Unemployment rose in 27 states in March, Maryland lost 14,000 jobs in the month.

Yet they say we gained 162,000 jobs. Huh?! Must be all of those TEMPORARY census workers.

They are saying 162,000 new jobs neglecting on purpose to state how many lost old jobs. And off the 162,000 the same labor and statistic report I got my info from states 50% of the new jobs are part time. Also 48,000 of the new jobs are temporary Census jobs. In reality we gained nothing!
Obama is trying to put a good face on things for the elections coming November by twisting it. 27 states had increased unemployment we are at 9.7% out of every 100 people are out of work and economist are saying we may never see levels like 4.9% again and that 9% to 10% will be around for a long time to come. The Administration is failing and wants to put the blame on Bankers and Insurance companies and the greatly corporations that they run out of business. Who are we going to work for? They all operated under regulated conditions, now and in the past who made the regulations? Our Politicians thats who and they are demonizing them. The politicians are to blame there the demons here!

leave it to cvilleira to turn a thread about toyotas problems into a rant about the obama administration.

obama took office on january 19, 2009. it is april 2, 2010 today. how does that add up to 1 1/2 years?

yeah and obama is to blame for all the current economic misery. it had nothing to do with eight years of george bush and the trillons of dollars he has thrown down a rat hole in iraq, the fostering of corporate greed over the public good (remember enron?), and the promotion of relaxed finance and banking regulations (credit default swaps, and the sub prime mortgage mess).

obama didn't create the mess he is just trying to clean it up. if anything obama hasn't been tough enough on the banks and the finance companies.

are you suggesting that if john mccain had been elected that the economy would be hunky dory right now?

as ronald reagan once said...there you go again.

Sorry 1/14 years and yes Obama has done nothing in that time but campaign and travel around the world accomplishing nothing. World leaders have no fear of him, look at Iran, Korea, Venezuela just signed agreements with Russia for military support against the U.S. even. And as you know the Banking industry was all changed under Clinton and the demise of the Glass Steagall Act of 1933 not Bush. And John McCain did nothing for me either, the man could not even win his own parties nomination two times before but He could not be worst then what we got. A Community organizer for President.
And talk about baggage!
How many back room tax payer money deal where there to push Obamacare through.
Number one should have been JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS!!!!
What are the main concerns of Americans JOBS!!!! And DEBT!!!!
I ask what has he done to create jobs? Where did all the bailout money go? Seems to me they are the biggest Bailouts in History!

And YES there are now 4,700 more American working for Toyota in California out of WORK!!!!

since when is the sale of military hardware by one country to another thought of as an agreement for military support against another country? apparently venezuela purchased some helicopters from the russians and no agreements for russian military support were made. get your facts straight.

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE63115720100403

here is part of the article from the above link:

(Reuters) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin gave the United States' main Latin American foe, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a needed boost with a brief visit on Friday to discuss oil, defense and nuclear energy cooperation.

WORLD | RUSSIA

They launched a $20 billion venture between Russian firms and Venezuelan state company PDVSA aimed at pumping 450,000 barrels a day -- almost a fifth of the OPEC member's current output -- from the vast Orinoco heavy oil belt.

Russia also delivered the last four of 38 military transport helicopters, but no new defense agreements were signed, though Chavez said Moscow was open to help Venezuela develop nuclear energy for generating electricity.

and apparently when it comes to russian and north korean relations your above claim is baseless also. the first link is to a recent story about russia supporting un sanctions against north korea and the other is a link to a detailed report about russia and north korean relations that states russian and north korean relations began improving 5 years ago. so i guess north korean leaders had no fear of the bush administration...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100330/ap_ ... sia_nkorea

http://www.brookings.edu/fp/cnaps/paper ... ov2007.pdf

as far as iranian and russian relations it seems that russia was selling air defense weapons to iran...but russia has recently suspended that sale. also, recently russia has joined the united states and western european nations in advocating sanctions against iran because of its nuclear program...certainly not a cozy situation of russian military support of iran against the united states as you stated. again get you facts straight.

http://www.csmonitor.com/World/terroris ... -to-Moscow

my advice to you is to turn off the fox news channel and relax.

they don't seem to be doing too well at the moment, a press generator before a new electric car launch along with a reassessment of the company's future?
