If price is a factor your going to miss the best fuzz pedal I've ever heard. Uses a hybrid circuit containing germanium transistor for softclipping and silicon for highgain.

My personal favourite

Handbuilt and decorated. Neither cost above £70. The mosquito caused me to ebay a old coloursound I had.

Yeah, I'm looking for a good fuzz too. Unfortunately I haven't the experience with any of the following, but these are the ones I'm eyeing up atm:

Burford Mosquito: http://www.projectguitarparts.co.uk/Pages/burfordfx.html
Analogman Sunface: http://www.buyanalogman.com/Sun_Face_s/27.htm
Keeley Fuzz Head: http://www.robertkeeley.com/product.php?id=25

Capo

The Mosquito isnt for everyone. Its a set and forget pedal. The amounts of fuzz are not adjustable, only the volume of the fuzz. You control the lot from the guitar.
The BritFace is more userfriendly and is set like a traditional pedals controls. I'd also say it sounds better as a fuzz alone pedal. I just cant resist the octave up though.

That is such a beast of a pedal. Its like the size of an Atari 2600.

Yeah, you need a pretty manly pedal board for that one.
You should take a look at Build Your Own Clone and General Guitar Gadgets. I love building and modding my own pedals.

I use a SkinPimp MkIII fuzz. These are all hand made, handwired with loving care by Ryan Kirkland. I was able to select the graphics myself.

The interior of mine...the tag boards are all various hardwoods; I think mine is either maple or oak

Michael also has a Hartman Vintage Germanium Fuzz with a Mayer-Hendrix mod that is no longer available...also a really nice fuzz.

I hadn't really given fuzz much thought, but I bought a decently-priced early Hartman vintage germanium fuzz on a whim late last year (says #19 inside). Instant Jimi Plays Monterey. I spent a week at the beach thinking "from now on I will use only fuzz," and obviously I've settled down a bit since then but jeez it's a nice pedal. Gotta go... I really shouldn't post at work when I have more to say!

I love old science fiction movie posters, so after an online search, I saw this one, always one of my favorite movies.

As Cherokee 747 suggested the pedals made by Roger Mayer. His pedals are without equal and he even builds some with octave splitting effects giving you your fretted note and one octave above. It was Roger that created almost all of the effects for Jimi Hendrix and what he didn't make he extensively modded.Other than that the Big Muff Pi is a great flexible pedal.

If I were after a new fuzz, the one I lust after the most is the fuzzfaceless

Watch the sample video and see what you think. I think that is the definition of versatile. Very impressive.

I can only imagine the price.... (didn't look yet).

Took a little spin around the entire site, they sure make some neat pedals...

It's a little under $200
