Just curious if anyone listens to this "off the wall" band? Gene and Dean Ween. Just the names alone say it all but if you have not heard them you are in for some interesting music. They cover a wide variety of genres and do it the only way Ween can. I discovered them back in my party days. They are an aquired taste but I love them!

I liked the Choolate And Cheese album, but that was about it, we used to break out "buenos tardes, Amigo at partycgigs sometimes.

I have. Got a download of their song, "Hey There, Fancy Pants"
and a song of theirs on my South Park Chef-Aid album, "_omo Rainbow"
(this web site won't allow the "H" on that word here).

I like what I've heard by them, but then, I enjoy strange and quirky
stuff now and again. Like who, you ask?
DEVO
They Might Be Giants
Dukes Of Stratosphere
Butthole Surfers
...that said, not a big fan of Weird Al, though.

I LOVE Ween.
White Pepper
The Mollusk , Quebec, My 3 favorotes, not to mention 12 Golden Country Greats!

A lot of people have said they are weird and they don't like what ever about them. If you arent familiar it is worth checking some of it out. I will admit some of it is just NOISE.....(their earlier stuff).
But you have to admit, (after listening to at least a few albums) they are very skilled musicians. Mickey (Meen Ween) has said in interviews he plays a 1960's Fender Strat w/ a reissue 60's neck.....Just to mess with the guitar and gear guys like myself.lol
They are able to play so many different types of music. They can sound like 5 different bands. Its weird, sometimes you will hear a song by them and not even know it was them.
Plus they did a song for the Sponge Bob Squarepants movie (Ocean man).

My favorite album is probably God, Ween, Satan, The Oneness. It was the first time I had listened to them. It really caught me. There is some tracks that are noise but I really like it. I agree with you that they are skilled musicians as they can play an authentic reggae tune and then play a classic country tune to the T! They toured last year and I was offered a spot on a road trip. I turned it down. Probably should've taken the offer cuz they probably won't be around here for a while, but who knows!

My buddy was into them... back in the "Party days" honestly, i couldn't stand them for more than about 40 seconds but that was the Pure Guava record so i am guilty of not giving them much more of a chance. I was more into Phish. However... the Golden Country Hits album was kinda fun.

You had a chance to see them tour w/ them and didn't go? That sucks. I haven't seen them live, I would love to. They are a good party band, but it's funny that they are serious too.
