nevin1985 that is the sweetest Tele I've ever set my eyes on! I've had one in the back of my mind for a while now but since I've bought three new guitars in the last six months (after having the same one for over forty years) I think I better cool it for a while. Not a LONG while....just a while

I'd like to think I'm done buying guitars, but to be honest I think there will likly be one or 2 more. I have never found that one guitar that I feel can do everything and do it well. My favorite one to play is a 2004 American Series Strat. It has great clean tones, but I'm not so wild about it with distortion. I have 2 other Strats, and both sound great for other applications. One of them I really like with distortion, but not clean. I have a Tele I like for certain applications also. My non Fender guitars I like for hard rock with alot of distortion. I have owned a Strat with HSS config., but still found something missing with that one also. The problem is probably with me and not the guitars.

Floyd, 'bought an Ibanez lawsuit copy of a Firebird V in Tobacco Sunburst new in '74 (when Gibson was not making them) and it is such an excellent axe, 'have kept it in preference to getting a real one, despite trying...maybe 25.

That said, the Firebird is in this opinion a quite under-rated instrument. While capable of playing veritably anything, it impresses (since this is a Fender Lounge) as a naughtier variant of the Jaguar or Jazzmaster...and yes, you can play surf on one. Or jazz, in addition to the well-known pop music commonly called "blues."
