Kind of.

I called it pointless a few weeks ago. I still think inflating the line of strats and teles further is rediculous, there are so many variations out not even counting the Squiers and Starcasters, but I had the chance to play the HSS and I was impressed. Very similar feeling to a HWY1, but the TX Specials gave it a unique sound with the greasebucket, I like it a lot,I may trade up to it with one of my other axes.

For production economies of scale, they use that 'modern C' neck widely. It's never going to please me, and what does is on their higher end gear...the Clapton and the '57HotRod. It's pointless to pay for a midpriced guitar just to have to swap out the neck. I do hope you enjoy your new acquisition should you care to go that route. Visually, that black Strat is a keeper.

It still has the same Humbucker in it. It could be cheaper for you just to replace the neck and middle pickups on your current Highway 1...unless you really want a new guitar (like me)
