Hey guys Im new in here and Im just about to buy my first strat.
I hope Im posting this in the right place.

My guitar hero number one is Nile Rodgers and i would like to get a cheap strat that are as close to his Hitmaker guitar as possible.

here is the hitmaker.

here is a article where he talks about his guitar.
http://legacy.nilerodgers.com/PDFs/GuitarOneInterview.pdf

I know there is a custom or signature limited edition version of it coming out later this year and I would love to get one but that's out of my budget.
So Im thinking that the closest i can get in my price range would be a Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster® ‘50s.

If you guys have any other suggestions on wich guitar i should get i would love to hear it.

Thx

Brunis

Nile's Strat is a hardtail, so from this point of view the Robert Cray Strat is the closest (even if it has rosewood fretboard). It's also more than double the money, compared to the Squier ($869 vs $349 @ GC).
If your budget only covers the Squier, I think it could be a good fit and I would completely block the trem (with a piece of wood, as for the EC sig). Completely changing the bridge might be too much hassle and put you closer to the Robert Cray cost.

Squiers are a great choice, just make sure you spell it right...

A Squier, S-Q-U-I-E-R, is a guitar, or the last name of Billy Squier....

A Squire, S-Q-U-I-R-E, is an English country gentleman or landowner, or Chris Squire from YES.
