1955, Silvertone acoustic sunburst, no pic, sorry, a good learning guitar though and it made me some money (don't know what it cost my parents) when I started carrying it around in 1959.

I had a Gibson acoustic, my father added a pickup later on and bought me a Fender Princeton, that was in the early 60`s. I still have the amp but I gave the guitar to my brother.

1988 Series 10 Bentley. With the Purple crackle coming trough a Black finish. Wish I still had that for just a fun knock around guitar.

A really crappy "Crown" Strat copy that I bought at a swap meet.

First guitar--Fender F250 acoustic, made in Korea; paid $110 in 1989. I'm going to go out on a limb and possibly shock some people; This is a really good guitar. I would compare it to many higher-end acoustics made by "true" acoustic luthiers/brands. The tone is rich and buttery, it plays beautifully (especially tuned down a full step). It's not a top-of-the-line Taylor, but everyone who has ever played it is shocked at how good it sounds and how well it plays. Maybe it was a "Wednesday" guitar  .

First electric--1980 G&L F100 (series II neck profile). Paid $190 in 1989. Rosewood fretboard, mahogany body, sunburst finish, hardtail bridge. One of the first G&Ls (both by date and serial number), it's also kind of rare because I've only seen one other F100 with a hardtail bridge, and only two other F100s with a sunburst finish, and none of them had a rosewood fretboard or the (faster) series II neck profile. It has the coil- and phase-tapped humbuckers, and it is a great rock-n-roll machine. G&L recently re-issued the F100s, but they didn't put the coil and phase tap circuit on it (which made it so cool--you could go from a Les Paul-esque sound to a slappy single-coil funk instrument to an jazzy out-of-phase tone with two little mini-toggles).

I was fortunate enought to be able keep both of them; they're mostly used for recording...although the G&L will occasionally venture out for the random rock gig.

I did have to sell several of my other early guitars & amps due to mortgage payments, lost jobs, etc. Out of all the guitars and amps I sold, I only wish I had the G&L Nighthawk and my old silverface Fender Bassman Ten back...the rest are, hopefully, making someone else happy.

We have a saying where I live, Rick. It goes:
Share the happiness by adopting a 46 year old Australian and letting him play your guitars
Either that or post some pics (please)?

I've been playing for just under a year and a half, here's what I've gone through so far:

1: Bought a $130 yamaha acoustic just to try it out. My brother had bought a squier strat a week or two before this and it piqued my interest. Returned it after a few days to get an electric instead.

2: Decided an electric was more what I wanted, so I bought an epi SG special for $170. Awesome value, I still use it in dropped tunings. Great heavy sound for rhythm or lead. The neck is a little fat for me though.

3: April 09 I bought my current love, a Mexican standard strat in arctic white. I swapped out the pickguard from white to tortoiseshell and i'm gonna mod it to make it better (not that there's anything wrong with it, I love it!)

4: Went to college and people all had acoustics, but it's hard to take a strat outside to jam. Bought a Takamine GS330S that I love. It has a really bright sound and is comfortable to play.
