Two good choices, as well. I'm a huge fan of Neil Young's. He can make song writing seem effortless.

I seriously was remiss in not adding the great Willie Dixon to my earlier post.

Mr. Dixon wrote just about every great blues song out there,
too many to even begin listing here. Often behind the scene more, allowing
the likes of Muddy Water, Howlin' Wolf and others shine through his
classic blues numbers.

I'm glad a lot of you understand the deeper meaning of music and its impact on us all. Be it lyrics or the music itself.

Thanks!

Goran

I saw Tom Waits way back in 1977 at a local State College auditorium. Great stuff but he sets a really dark and moody atmosphere. There is no joy in his music.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what it means. English is not my mother tongue.

Yeah it is a bit depressive, "the piano has been drinkin" has some great lines in it though

Oh, I see! It really isn't my run of the mill. A bit unusual! But that's why I copied it to my computer, so that I can read it again later.
Oh, and thank you for my new sentence in English. I like it!

"Run of the mill"! Yeah!

Jim Morrison, The Doors! A poet!

THE GHOST SONG

Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity
First thing you see.

A vast radiant beach in a cool jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it's quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.

Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon
Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake

Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
Everything is broken up and dances.

sometimes you get a song with great music. sometimes you get one with grat lyrics.

i love it when you get both. some of my choices are:

grateful dead- box of rain, and ripple (there are many more tunes by them)

harry chapin- cat's in the cradle- a must for parents

the who- won't get fooled again

i'll think of more later
