I have no interest or desire to shred so I bought a machine from Staples to do it for me.

I'm bad at a lot of things.
I'm great at making excuses.

I can't play any form of solo that doesn't sound 'too bluesy'. I prefer rhythm playing anyway and at that I'm very decent, I could chop the same 3 chords a thousand different ways but anytime I'm left to solo it seems I express myself with the same old 5h1t. Its a rut I can't seem to get out.

I can't shred or anything either but to be honest I really don't want to.

I'm not a fan of solos either, but still i write em....Of course, theyre not the ones that go for 2 minuts, they only go for about 15 seconds.

Bad at: pretty much everything, but that's because the thing I am worst at is not buckling down like I should and do the practicing I need to get better.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but does anyone have any tips as to how to develop the discipline I need to get my behind in gear?
I hate to think I may have wasted $800 on a new guitar and amp (Std. Strat and SCXD) .
