It makes me feel good.

At lunch there was a bunch of old farts (I can say that as I am one) playing Black Magic Woman, among other things, in the atrium. One long-haired younger dude on a LP playing rhythm, and an older guy playing lead on his ES 335. Tenor sax, drummer, bass and piano. Plus one elderly gentleman sitting with them, but not playing who looked EXACTLY like BB King. Anyway these guys were kickin a@@ and having fun in their 50s and 60s. And as slick as goose sh$$. That got me re-energized.

Hey...my wife and I are both 44 years old and my bass player and keyboard player are both in their 50's...age doesn't have ANYTHING to do with it! :-)

Personally, I plan on playing till I'm dead...and maybe even for a while after that.

Peace,
Jim

I was inspired to play in a band by the movie "School of Rock" with Jack black. I look back and it really was a silly movie but an insperation none the less. I think nothing inspired to me play bass spicificaly I just decided to one day. My actual insperation as a bass player now would have to be John Deacon from Queen. Defenetly my favorite bass player.

Duane Eddy, Dick Dale, The Ventures, The Shadows, they inspired me to play guitar. Then came the Beatles and I wanted to be a rock star! Well, here I am about 45 years later and I still want to be a rock star. Not gonna happen but I'm still havin' fun :D

Growing up with Queen, The Stones, Lou Reed, Mike Oldfield and more being played through the house by my parents. Then I saw Guns N' Roses when I was 9 and loved Izzy Stradlin and Slash and likewise when I saw Jethro Tull at 11 and got hooked on Martin Barre.

Music got me through a very difficult upbringing and I hope someday my music will help some sad little boy too.

I play, therefore I am....
