Great choice Alan,a lot of people poo poo Epiphones as being inferior instruments but as the owner of 5 I can vouch for their quality, sound and playability.BTW the most beautiful Les Paul I've ever seen was an Epi and it was a tone demon, unfortunately I had spent the last of my G.A.S. money the month before and didn't get it.

guitslinger you are so right about people looking down on epi's , as i sad earlier i had a loan of one years ago but it didn't have the set neck , it sounded excellent though , probably a bit snobby of me  . then the girl got her sg400 and it also sounded excellent but i wasn't playing at the time so never got a feel for it till a wee while ago when i got back into the guitar , and i must say i love playing it , it feels like my old friends 72 sg which is a really nice axe
My new lp is a korean made chap and is 7 years old and what can i say , i'm loving it , big sound , big tone , big sustain espesh through the jcm800 :) and the woman tone is to die for :) , in a few days my fingers will have the feel for it and i can't bloody wait for that moment . oh andthe pick guard has been removed now , looks so much nicer without it
