Dear All,

Few days ago I ordered American Standard Start from Guitar Center Online. I got an email from them saying that Fender company should supply the guitar on the Feb 19,2010 which is on the coming Friday, and only then they will ship it to me.

When I called the customer service of Guitar Center Online and asked them about it, they told me that there are currently 8 orders for that specific guitar and that they are expecting to get 12 pieces of this guitar on the coming Friday and ship it to the customers. on the other hand, she also told me that it is possible that Fender won't send the guitars on time and than I will have to wait until April for the next "Fender supply", which only the thinking drives me nuts !!!

My question is: how many chances there are, that Fender won't supply the guitars to Guitar Center on time? any previous experience with that situation someone?

Thank you in advance,
Roy.[/i]

I do not have an answer to that question. I was in a couple music stores today and one told me that the American Special is on a 7 week back order. Either every one is out buying new Fender guitars or Fender is slowing down production for what they thought was a slow economy.

Anything is possible but I'd guess it varies a lot depending where you are. I had problems ordering here just after Christmas.

In my experience I have found most music stores, even big chain stores, experience a bit of a hit & miss situation when ordering items in. If the item is already sitting in a warehouse somewhere it won't take more than a few days or maybe a week at most. If it's back ordered and they have to go to the factory it could be months as the factories almost always do runs of particular item in batches and they could be busy working on some other item at the moment.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

yeah i had a similar problem in the uk with my jim root tele. Because they were that popular over here, fender couldn't make them fast enough to supply everyone. Its just one of them really.

I've noticed that the price for an American standars has dropped to $999.00 recently, and the american strats were not selling very well the past year or so (hence the price drop), Maybe production was slowed down due to the economy.....
