Thank god summers nearly over....

I live in one of the hottest states in the world. It sucks. In the summer it gets up tp 45 C where I live. Thats really bad....I mean, 30's are nice, you just go for a swim for a while, but mid 40's, its to bloody hot to swim. And I live in the most fire prone state in the world, so when bushfires are around its even hotter (like black saturday, god was that close to us, it was 47 C)
What do you do to cope with exetreme heat?

I have been to Scottsdale once and it was 120 F during the day so at night it would cool down to th upper 90s and we would go out and the night spots with out door bars had mist'rs that sprayed a water mist it actually worked to keep every one cool.

My brother in law lived in Wangaratta (not far from Benalla) for a couple of years and the heat there was just brutal. He just fitted the biggest airconditioner he could find to his 2 bedroom home. I reckon it could have kept a small factory cool. I just couldn't believe how cold it would also get in winter though...

I ride motorcycles everywhere I can and get inside to enjoy air conditioning at every possible opportunity. Then I drink LOTS of water! LOTS of it! And even then, sometimes all that isn't enough.

Last June I rode down to Austin Texas for a rally and it must have been 100 °F every day I was there. Stayed with my bro Freebird (he was a roady for Ronny and the LS boys before the crash and Ronny named him...LOL) anyway... It was VERY hot in Texas. I couldn't keep cool enough out side so I stayed indoors as much as possible. 8)

Freebird on the left and me on the right... half dying from heat. I was cooked from sunburn after three days of riding 2,000 miles to get there. Arms were blistered... just nasty.  What a party!

Here in AZ it will be 110-115 F for months and months. But its a dry heat. Kind of like a hair dryer blowing in your face 24-7 I used to try and cope with it but I decided to give up and just embrace it. No when its hot out I just tell myself at least it isnt cold. Which to me would be much worse.

Riley… Air conditioner is your friend… I know the feeling because every time I go to Iraq I get to deal with 130 F/ 54C Temperatures. You get used to it but it still sucks. When the coldest place you ever been in your life is in an air conditioned room (perceived coldest) and the temp is still triple digits Fahrenheit; its too dang hot….

Trade places with me Riley, here in Newfoundland and Labrador,Canada, the very hottest it gets in summer is the low 30's (90s F)and in winter especially in Labrador the temp can go below -30 C.Is that cold enough for ya?lol

We hit 45 and up here in Vegas too Riley. I just drink lots of water and try to stay in the shade as much as possible. A good hat helps too. 8)

I cope with it by going outside and enjoying it! I hate cold weather so I take advantage of the warm and sunshine as much as possible. Luckily now I wont have to worry about the harsh east coast US winters any more. But heat and extreme heat never bothered me, I grew up on the coast less than a mile from the ocean so I am used to it.

In Chicago, you wait a few minutes and something in the weather is likely to change.

Temps here range from -40 F during a miserable winter to 110 with 99% humidity in a hot summer.

And right now, 'kinda agreeing with folks who had not-incredibly-kind thoughts...it's barely been above freezing for more than a few hours, in almost 3 months.

Same here in Iceland. I have seen snow, rain and clear sky all at the same hour
