i second that. The Beatles revolutionized the way music was made and recorded. Probably the biggest revolution in Recording since Mr. Les Paul invented multitrack recording, paving the way for such bands like Pink Floyd.

1) The Casino is fine, not my choice for hard rocking but it ain't ugly.
2) Once you learn to actually play the guitar, you won't be into Grunge anymore.

1) The V design. Really ugly looking IMO.

2) People who paint their guitars with tacky neon colors such as hot pink and lime green.

3) Stupid slogans etched on the guitar, usually of a political nature: *BLEEP* THE GOVERNMENT, ANARCHY, etc.

4) Headless guitars. Look like washtub guitars.

there is some one who isn't a fan of headless guitars.

StratoSmythe, welcome to the Forum!

To me those headless guitars always looked like those silly washtub basses people used to build out of brooms and such when they were bored...

Now there may be some who knock me for not liking the V design, but to me it looks impractical and bulky.

4) Doubleneck guitars that don't match in neck size. Looks very odd.

It definitely was a guy who didn't like fame, it definitely was a guy who sold more records than Kurt, it definitely was a guy who was addicted to heroin for years. But not Kurt, lol. I heard Izzy wasn't bad at playin and his daughter loves him.

I took the suggestion, and I'm going to start a thread about the Beatles. Not the Beatles specifically, but more about what musicians, bands, albums, or songs just grabbed you and wouldn't let go.

Now back to the topic at hand, I saw a couple of great guitars today with just a couple of the wrong features. One example was a Les Paul (don't know the particular model name) with tribal inlays. Another one was the new Jim Root Strat.
I haven't owned a Les Paul in probably ten years or so. They're just not my thing anymore. But, I still consider them to be great guitars, especially in the looks department, and seeing one without the big block inlays just felt like something was missing.
The Jim Root Strat, like the Tele, is actually a pretty nifty guitar for metalheads. It's definitely got the firepower to get the job done. However, much like other offshoots from great guitar lines over the years, it just feels like some of the vibe is missing.
Is that what we're after with the aesthetic qualities of our instruments? A little bit of our own fashion sense, maybe? I don't know. I have actually enjoyed this thread quite a bit, especially the parts about the pointy guitars with the wild graphics, etc. It reminds me of the ones I liked when I was a kid, you know, Dave Mustaine's King V's, Vernon Reid's Ibanez, and the other visually loud guitars of the 80's and 90's. Looking at the Strat's on my rack now, I realize how different one's taste as a thirty-something is compared to the teen years.

I still think the CBS headstock is ugly, though, lol.

Wow, only 2 days and this topic already has 8 pages! Here are some things that bug me:

1.) Guitars that are pointy, too-weird of shapes (I like old classic designs, like Strats, Teles, or LP's)

2.) Guitars that are intentionally torn up... I think it's cool if a guitar is worn naturally (by playing it often), but purposely tearing it up is silly!

3.) Guitars with stickers on them! Why would you put stickers on a guitar in the first place? Put them on your case instead!

not to be a jerk, but thats quite a foolish statement..... there are certainly grunge songs that are more than power chords, and just because somone can shred does not mean they can't be into grunge
