well i'm a bass player so my opinion isn't the best but i'd say it plays very well for a 25$ (actually 5$) guitar. I went with 10. gauge strings right of the bat because i would over bend smaller strings (i am a bass player) and they sound great. but i added an extra spring for tension and the whammy bar is a little stiff.

over all love it! P.S. is the large amount of hum most likely coming from a bad grounding, cheap pickups, or just because it's not shielded.

Could be any/all of the above.
