Kurt Cobain sadly was one messed up man. He hated attention yet craved it. He wanted to be a star yet didn't want to be famous. He was a walking contradiction. He mentioned suicide many times during his life according to many biographies about him so unfortunately even with the circumstanced mentioned I personally feel that he did himself in. That said it is an amazing study to see that there is a consipracy theory for almost every dead celebrity. Sadly we just want a reason that helps us think that there was some motive behind our legends being gone instead of what's right in front of us.

Personally, in my opinion, i think it was suicide. As much as Id like to think he wasn't suicidle, just to many things point to it. He was clinically depresed, most of his songs had "down" lyrics, he was heavily into herion etc.

On the other hand, theres so much evidence pointing towards he was murded.
Hes my biggest hero, so i dont know really....

Lots of people were into heroin and had the balls to stop it (3 members of GN'R, Aerosmith etc)
Again lots of people have much worse childhoods than Kurt Cobain (Axl Rose for example)
And some people a lot younger than Kurt Cobain was when he topped himself have the balls to care about their baby daughters and be a good father.

Kurt Cobain was a hack, a moan and a guy with no balls IMO. He had some great lyrics but couldn't play for 5h1t. I always hated those whiney wee cardigan wearing grunge boys who do nothing but moan when in actual fact they have a great life.

I dont take heroin etc as an excuse. As I said, there are many musicians who have had a worse life than Cobain did who had the balls to stop it to give love for their kids and raise a family.

Many of us do. I have fair points plus I was alive at that time bro. I dont HATE him. I hate what he represents. He was a 27 year old with the mind of a 12 year old. An irresponsible father and crap. How come other musicians who are depressed and on heroin can stop to raise their babies?

Because you dont know what it was like to be like him, no one does. He was a sensitive guy, he absoulutley could not deal with that much fame.
Anyway, we all have difrent hatreds for diffrent people, an im just gonna leave this thread cause i dont want this to turn into another "kurt" argument.

Read through all the posts Riley, I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I dont need to know what it was like to be him. I can imagine through experience. He was a grown man and he left his baby daughter. That is the epitome of pu55y.

You'll realise once you grow up and have a kid someday. What if your dad blew his brains out when you were a baby cos he was a 'sensitive soul'?

[edit] I did say he had some great lyrics however. I just don't respect him as a person. Hell most of my idols were a55holes too.

If you're above the age of 20, you should be over Kurt's suicide by now...

If you're under the age of 20 (unless your name is France Bean Cobain), realize that those of us who were alive on the day when this happened have since moved on, and quit acting like this just happened yesterday

As I said before, its been 16 years, get over it.

Yes, anytime anyone commits suicide its tragic, not for the person who killed themself, but for everyone else who actually knew them personally.

On February 1 of this year, a friend of mine committed suicide. While I felt bad for the victim, I feel worse for his family, parents, friends, and relatives who have all been, and will continue to be, affected permanently. When I was younger, I thought Kurt just couldn't handle the pressure of being a rock star, and it just got to be too much. Now I feel that maybe Kurt did the right thing to himself, because if he couldn't handle being a celebrity and/or rock star in the early 90s, his wimpy *ss sure as hell would not be able to cope with this age of TMZ, twitter, and the internet as it exists today.

Now as I have said before, I am a Nirvana fan, but this recent suicide of my friend has me re-thinking Kurt's situation. As an adult coping with the suicide of a friend, I totally lost respect for Kurt, a father, leaving the burden of coping with a parent's suicide on a young child.

You don't want to be a rock star anymore, just quit being a rock star. No one had a gun to your head and said,"You must continue being a rock star.", you put the gun to your own head Kurt...

If you thought you were f*cked up Kurt, you f*cked up your daughter even more...

I like your music, but have totally lost respect for a person who willfully leaves that type of burden on their own child.
