The idea of a peel-off decal, which was proffered the last time we had a thread on this, and has surfaced again, seems to me a lest costly effort to mount in that you already own the logo and trademarks for the shirt.

Wow, I didn't know Brad had already posted (my computer screen is not wide enough to see text and author) but he seems pretty positive about the idea. As you state ZZ (and after using a dictionary to figure out what you were saying) I guess this has all been discussed.

But eight hours of sleep can open the mind to new ideas. How about a pickguard? Of course the next issue would be drill patterns. :? Well, make them blanks! (Drill your own).

It would be less costly than a whole guitar and easier for Brad to store under his desk. :)

I'll let you guys figure out the design but it could be as easy as a three ply engraved or a whole color scheme with a clear layer on top.

The t-shirt project was not hugely encouraging as we just plain didn't sell a heck of a lot of them and I've got hundreds of them sitting under my desk right now that I'm truthfully not yet sure what to do with. Although these sorts of efforts have become reasonably common practice these days I'm proud to say that I presided over the very first "forum-designed guitar" project way back in 1999 with another firm and that firm made a variety of instruments as well, proving it was indeed possible to get a large group to achieve a compromise -- and I have to say, that project was truly one of the best experiences of my online life ... so I'm very much hoping we can do something of that nature here one day!

Actually we could have a "Lifetime supply of Fender Forums Tshirt contest"!! I bought one, and will buy another cause mines getting worn!! I(and I think I speak for everyone here) Thank you for making the t-shirts and love mine...(my wife has threatened me on many levels about wearing it too often) anyways thats all I got to say about that...

Conceptually, an interesting thought. However, they'd have to make them for every Fender guitar model in existence and considering the multiplicity of units involved, a peel-off logo would be far more simplistic an effort.
