A thread on this has already been done in the past. I don't know what ever came of it but you might be able to do a search on it.

If I remember correctly there have been several threads on this in the past.

Interesting concept.

Fender Lounge Stratocaster Limited Edition

Hi Nevin: it is a nice idea and has come up before. Immediately the thread filled up with people saying they prefered a Tele. Or a P-Bass. Or a J-Bass. There was a lot of disagreement about colors and features and...

And I don't want to pour further cold water on it, but when the Forum T-shirt idea was first suggested by Forum user BluesBondsman his thread was smothered with hundreds of guys yelling; "I'll buy one!!"

So Brad turned one out in double-quick time. If memory serves he did a "limited edition" of 400 T-shirts. More than a year later half of them were still unsold. And I bought three of them!

So when the Forum Strat idea came up before Brad presented himself as... remaining to be convinced.

Still. For what it's worth, take a look at the pics on this thread. This is the Forum Strat I will DEFINITELY buy!!!

http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=34246

...Though I'd prefer a two-point bridge. Please...

:D - C

Actually it would be cool if there was an actual Fender Forum Guitar limited edition, maybe 5 to 10 made (just to see how many people bite). They could be black or white with the Fender Lounge emblem on the arm rest area and maple neck. Nothing extremely expensive, a MIM Standard would do.

It's actually a great idea though my stance on the matter is the same as the last time this issue surfaced, which is that I'd love to see it happen but am still not convinced that we're *quite* there yet. The t-shirt project was not hugely encouraging as we just plain didn't sell a heck of a lot of them and I've got hundreds of them sitting under my desk right now that I'm truthfully not yet sure what to do with. Although these sorts of efforts have become reasonably common practice these days I'm proud to say that I presided over the very first "forum-designed guitar" project way back in 1999 with another firm and that firm made a variety of instruments as well, proving it was indeed possible to get a large group to achieve a compromise -- and I have to say, that project was truly one of the best experiences of my online life ... so I'm very much hoping we can do something of that nature here one day!

Fenders been building guitars for us all along. In every size color and shape we could ever dream.

Maybe all we need is a Fender Forum decal to put our guitars.

Actually one of those removable vinyl stickers that gluelessly attach to any smooth surface would be a cool addition to the store.

There you go, I was thinking of a serial number but user name would be more personal. Cool!

We already have a pretty cool logo on top of the page but "Fender Formite" might be a nice addition.

Maybe we can do a poll/vote and present it to Brad see what he says.

I was thinking of something like the logo and over it say Fender Forumite in the spaghetti text and then over say the base of the martini glass say the username (also spaghetti text)

The idea of a peel-off decal, which was proffered the last time we had a thread on this, and has surfaced again, seems to me a lest costly effort to mount in that you already own the logo and trademarks for the shirt.
