Chuck Leavell's piano playing is now very in demand. He was overshadowed by Greg's B-3 and the guitars, bass and percussion, but his playin' was real fine.

Ok didn't Chuck found "Sea Level" with another Allman Bros. alumni in the seventies? I had one of their albums which disappeared in the midst of roommates moving out a couple of decades ago...

Yeah, he's been around for awhile, here's his bio :

I just saw your post in reference to the Allman Bros Band, and could not refuse posting a reply. I could talk ABB forever, they are still my favorite band of all time. Duane on lead/slide is the KING, there are others out there but at his age being snuffed out that early, I would shudder to think how he would be playing today if still around. Dreams is my favorite ABB tune, but I like every song they put together. Something about that song that just makes me smile when I hear the original with Duane playing...

They were and still are amazing, I see them here at the Minnesota State Fair almost every 2 or 3 years. The last time there, my son took me and they had a live to CD recording lab that ripped the concert right to disk, then I threw a raffle ticket out when I picked up the CD and won a ABB T-Shirt, lucky day for someone who NEVER WINS a thing, must have been my loyalty to this group over the years. Every now and then I like to visit YouTube and watch the guy who filmed the graveyard where Duane and Berry are buried (Rose Hill), it gives me the chills to think they hung out here to get some of the best ideas as kids growing up. If nothing else, Macon is a place a I can visit some day to relive the days of past. No one comes close to these guys (of course thats must me talking)... By the way, that link to Rose Hill Cemetery is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9I01kLGaVs ( you cant miss the train) in the background, poor Duane, never gets a peaceful day, but then he was all about raising hell

After Duane and Berry departed...it just was never the same for me. :(

Yea, I agree, but the remainder of the band with Greg, is all that there is to look forward to, and is at least something to hold on to for memories...

I have seen then 8 times in all, great shows each and every one of them.

Greg Allmans solo album "Laid Back" is also a real good listen.

I visited Rose Hill Cemetary in the mid - seventies. I rode from New Jersey to Macon, GA. on my new motorcycle going on the Blue Ridge Parkway and thru the Appalachians. Rose Hill is a beautiful cemetary, having many levels, big trees and lots of Confederate soldiers buried there. I remember not having a clue where Duane & Berry were buried and I asked a very proper looking Southern woman. She said " Oh, you want to know where those boys that were killed are "? Back then there was no fence to keep away the crazies. Both of the graves had the footstones removed, so it was a sign of what was to come. By the way, some years later, my brother and my cousins ex-husband visited Macon and we ate at a nice restaurant in town. The waiter told me the Allman Bros. first album cover was photographed on the side. Sure enough it was.... and appearently Duane ( or someone else ) marked his feet. You can see the outlines of his feet where he stood and D Allman scratched into the floor.
