They don't get mentioned too often around here, but will be at the next Crossroads Festival.

I saw them when they were an opening act. Really sad about Berry and Duane, but the band still brings it, IMO.

Dickey Betts and Duane, along with Berry Oakley made some real fine music together.

Greg is still sounding as good as ever too and that B3 sounds great!

Any others agree?

I was never a huge fan but they have put out some wonderful and long lasting music that I know and appreciate....

Little Martha by Duane is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Dickey Betts and his son with Great Southern have a terrific sound too.

Every time I hear that lead guitar on the Live at Fillmore East record it just gives me chills. Music that reminds me why I picked up a guitar in the first place ^^

They were huge with the 69-72 lineup. Still bring it but that era was the Allman's............ 8) Mike

You're right. They don't get enough respect. It's like because of the misfortunes of the band they're discounted since it's not the original line up. They're amazing artists.

I saw them in 1973 shortly after Duane was gone I suppose. They played a concert in New Haven, Conn. I don't remember a lot about that night.

Agreed but I have liked every incarnation. I am also a giant fan of ABB associated groups, like Gov't Mule, and the Derek Trucks band.

Warren Haynes and DT have really developed into powerhouse performers.

i wish i could have seen the original line up, but that was before my time. i have seen them several times in various lineup configurations, and they are always always great. I wouldn't be surprised to see them blow everyone else at Xroads off the stage.

One of the better bands in my opinion. You're right, that don't get mentioned often.
