I finally have a minute to post my impressions of the BB King and BUddy Guy concert on Tuesday the 9th.

Buddy was, as usual, brilliant. But he only played for 45 minutes or so like a classic opening act. And did not return to the stage with BB.

BB's backing band played for at least 20 minutes (they were good, but...) before BB joined them on stage. And he talked so much and told so many stories that he only played 7 or 8 songs. And I did not want to hear about him meeting Mr. Viagra and Mr. Cialis.

I was afraid of that. I have not seen BB in years, and did not want to miss this one because after all, he is 84 and probably won't be with us much longer.
But I definitely don't think I got my $90 worth on that show....

I had seen BB King back in the late 80's (Yikes! Been that long now!?!). The ticket prices were great then. It was an intimate outdoor setting. Great show, lots of music, two hours, no long stories.

Recently he was in my town. I check the price for the tickets... ...!

I love BB King very, very much but, that was too rich for my pocket book, thank you (the cost was more than what you paid and there was no Buddy Guy on the bill). Glad I saw him when I did, though.

I was disappointed when B.B. King decided to skip Edmonton on his current tour. Buddy Guy is coming in April and I will see him and I expect a good show. Part of me was wondering what a B.B. concert would be like at his age and to be quite honest what you described sounds like what I thought it would be. I'd still love to see him simply because I am a fan and I've never caught him when he's been in town. That story takes the edge off a bit. I'll just sit and remember him in his prime.

I had seen both on the same bill in the past. Two great bands with great leaders.

To bad your experience wasn't better.
