I had an old Peavey 15 watt and it was pretty loud.
We ended up blowing it out using it as a PA for vocals in a garage at a party. We were 15 and didn't have anything else. It was a good thing 'cause our singer wasn't that good... :P

I started my cool, low wattage amp head collection with a 20 watt Egnater Rebel, so I plug the Night Train into the Rebel's 1x12 cabinet. The Celestion Elite 80 speaker and the Night Train are an excellent match.

John, I have a Rebel 20 too. I have two of the Egnater 112 cabs. I love that amp. The Night Train is really nice and the VHT Special look interesting. I have a lot of versatility with the Rebel but I'm looking to retire my 74 SF Champ to recording only. I use it for low volume rehearsals. The VHT looks like it might fit the bill. I saw the head listed at $179. It's a no brainer. It might be a great, cheap backup alternative to the Rebel. the The Egnater Celestion Elite 80 speaker cabinet sounds great. It's closed back and ported and small but you retain a lot of bottom end. I'm also waiting to see the Egnater "Tweaker". It's a cathode biased 15 watter with a lot of neat twists. It's supposed to be under $400 and migh be a great backup too. We'll see. I actually chose the Egnater over the Orange Tiny Terror. The TT was kind of a one trick pony, the Rebel not only sounded better to me , but was way more versatile for the money. YMMV

Once again, I have to agree with Supro. The TT is definitely a one-trick pony, but it's a cool trick.
About those Egnater cabinets, maybe I'm just ignorant of the facts. I've heard the 112's are ported for better low-end response. Are they mushy? I get pretty nervous about overly strong low-end response, probably because I'm part of the generation that made the Dual Rectifier into an icon. I hate that sound, all bottom-heavy and soulless (jmo). But I digress, opinions on the response of Egnater's cabs? I know the 412 sounds great, for a 412.

The bottom end is really tight on the Egnater 112. The Rebel 20 also has a "Tight" switch to tighten up the bottom end when you use higher gain or if you just want to change the bottom end of of your sound. I don't use a ton of gain so I never really use it. I don't use the bright switch very often except with my Ibanez Atrcore because the pickups are a little darker than my other guitars.

Kinda hard to beat a low watt amp unless you play clean a lot then you are gonna have a headroom problem ( if it’s a valve amp)….other than that your gonna get all the splendor of tube saturation at much lower volumes and with a good PA system you can gig anywhere with it..

The Orange Dual Terror is a great little amp and way more versatile than the Tiny Terror.I went on the Orange website and saw Death Cab For Cutie using one,it was a deadly little amp.

With that statement you sum up my exact feelings about Mesa amps. I have to say in their defence I think its the horrible cascading gain section. I've never heard a bad Mesa on clean.
They should try making a one channel non MV amp. That would kind of defeat the idea behind mesa boogie though.

On the VHT I havent heard one yet. I probably wont for a good while yet. It took me twelve years to get to try out a pittbull. When I did I was utterly gobsmacked though. Brilliant drive, more gain than I've heard on anything other than a Marshall MF, and clarity.

I cant wait to get to try a special6. Thats what I mean about revenge, its going to take yonks for em to get here.

I love my Rebel, too. I figured I had enough vintage reissue combo amps scattered around here and that it was time for a thoroughly modern head/cab. The Rebel fills the bill perfectly. It's the most versatile amp I own.

The Night Train is great, too. It brightens up my, ahem, Gibsons and it's a wonderful match for a Tele. It's also much easier to lug around than an AC15. :)

Oh, and to keep this on topic for the Fender Lounge, the Egnater is sitting next to a '65 Twin Custom 15, a GDEC 30 and a Champion 600.

+1 on the Surf Green Strat!
I've thought that color was awesome ever since I first saw a Jeff Beck Strat. It's one of the few colors I think looks really cool with either maple or rosewood. All you guys posting pics of those surf's are making me jealous. I'm ashamed to post a pic of my green Strat, lol.

Thanks, Toronado and shadowgrass. That's a Surf Green Classic Series 50s that hit me with one of the most intense GAS attacks I have ever had. I saw it at a local independent guitar store and it practically jumped off its wall hanger and into my hands. That was an expensive string buying trip.
