The angled headstock is fairly delicate, so if it gets banged in shipping (or bounced onstage) they snap. It's an easy repair to make IF you have the time, patience, and the proper clamps, sand paper, and refinishing expertise to make the repair almost invisible.

And the repair ends up stronger than the unbroken area.

Dont Epiphones have a different neck/body tennon join than Gibsons?

Last time I saw a gibbo with the cap off, it looked like they'd altered the neck join to provide a bit more strength.

Not even all Gibbo's have the same tenon niki.

All the more reason why I avoid Gibbys and Epis...give me a good old Fender Tele and life is good! I had a Gibby LP Custom and that darn thing was nothing but problem after problem and in my experience Gibby didn't stand by their product...Fender has always been top notch...so they have my loyalty!

I've got a epiphone SG, great guitar. But theres only one problem, the necks glued on. If you put to much presure on it, it'll snap. I guess thats the same with all epiphones.....

All set neck guitars are built that way. A glued neck isn't a problem. You shouldn't be pushing on a neck anyway. That said, they are easier to break and more expensive to repair than a bolt on neck.

Yep, the issue is that the glue join is stronger than the surrounding wood, no such thing as a clean break. plus they will be part of the same finish as the body, so you'll have to deal with that too.

I have dealt with Gibson and never had a problem. Gibson and Paul Reed Smith have been great to deal with in the past. I hate to say it but I have seen Fenders with problems and since Giiby has been doing Plek sets not many can get by with bad play, I see it!
Not knocking Fender service either because I have had nice dealing their as well, in fact I had some one their send me something I needed that he had in his desk overnight one time.
Of those big three Gibson/Epi., Fender, PRS I could not knock any on service.

C,
No worries, my experiences and opinions are just that. Some folks have had absolutely bad experiences with Fender and other like me have had fantastic! :D That is why I always tell folks you have to experience things for your self don't take my word on it. Are you finally dug out from the snow? We got 6" down here at FT benning Ga and it is pretty much melted away.
