I don't know.

But I do know what it would have sounded like if Jimi Hendrix had lived a hundred years earlier and played in a string quartet:

Meh. Thank goodness he lived when he did...

I used to listen a lot to that guy in the early seventies. The Canadian album pocket showed Bénichou playing a SG. I still think it was very cool for the time.

What if instead of learning how to play instruments and actually sing for themselves, kids just mimed to prerecorded tracks and used digital equipment to simulate actual instruments?

And then, what if these now famous “artist” became so hugely popular that they spawned more of their ilk?

And then, what if everyone seemed to be fine with this and actually preferred this to traditional blues based American rock & roll?

Yikes! Gives me shivers just thinking about it!

What if classic rock radio stations started play new oldies?

I worry when I get older it won't be Derek Trucks, Jeff Beck, Clapton, etc. on the radio...it will be Laga Gaga, boy bands, Disney show tunes, American Idols, and the like.

okay here's another one, but it's a big "what-if". what if Mozart was alive in the 70's and played a Strat?

I think he was, but he changed his name to "Malmsteen".
