Congrats on the purchase, and I started out with a washburn and busted my chops on that, then I bought a Johnson( an underrated guitar IMO)then when I started making more money I bought my first Fender SE. Although It's offshore production in Korea would have some screaming "FOUL" Its really a great guitar with some higher end features(such as Seymor Duncan PU's) and Bridseye maple fret board....I loved the way it sounded so I bought it. I then stumbled on to a 1994(?) HighwayOne Strat, and play the heck out of it...My point is you may not have the cash to throw at a Strat, but someday you will. The squire will probably suite you to learn and play on....and who knows, like me you may just keep it!!!
Enjoy it, and play it till your fingers bleed!!! :D
Cheers
J

Hey!!

Gear is gear, girl ... Squire or not.

And we're all gear-pigs here.

The best part is you're going to look fabulous with that thing hanging around your neck making all the boys crazy.

(Actually now that I think about it, oh never mind...)

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

congrats GG93! Pics of course. There are no haters here. You got a Fender and your part of the family now. There will always be guitars (cars, homes, clothes) you want but can't afford. So go forth and blast that axe.

I think most of us started with a modestly priced guitar at first. Mine was a Korean made Epiphone strat copy with completely lame pickups. I loved it though, and was really sad when I finally sold it. Found out later it was broken in two by the guy who I sold it to. :x

You'll receive no hate from me either. I started playing electric on a Squier Bullet as well before I got my MIM Fender Strat (w Humbucker).

Nothin' wrong with Squires, they are a fine guitar, beginer or Pro!
Good luck

Bill

Alan it's red (near fender candy apple red) humbucker, floyd copy, and has issues. The zinc trem disintergrated with age. I'm going to get a steel one made for the guitar and then give it a good setup.

At the moment it owes me around £20 i suppose, though I did the work for free and was given the guitar as a 'thankyou'.

It's very hard for me to put a price on it. Do you want to swap something? Got any old cheapie pedals you dont like? Bare in mind the guitar wont be playable for atleast another 3 weeks whilst my drummer makes the block.

I had a white one in the 80's I swapped a 81 Tokai Breezysound (tele) for it and never stopped regretting it to this day.

Congrats GG! I wish I could have started out with a guitar like that. I was playin' for about five years before I got my first electric. My most recent aquisition was a Squier J Bass and I'm lovin' it. Lookin' forward to pics.

Congrats on the new guitar. No hate of Squiers from me. My other guitar is a CV 60. Absolutely love it.
