That's an impressive line up, do they produce a DVD?

There's been a DVD for each of the first two. If you don't have them, you should.

Nice lineup...have the Allman Brothers Band ever appeared before or is this a first?

There's an artist we don't talk much about but should. Sonny Landreth. Guitar Player did a cover story on him within the past year or so. This guy has a technique with slide which is totally outside the box and everyone should have some of his stuff in their collections. He plays slide guitar and sounds like Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Robert Randolph rolled into one.....or.....they all sound like him. Either way....very impressive gift.
Doc

Looks like we'll have at least one, maybe a few, Forum reps at the event.
Plenty of pics and reporting expected. Anyone definitely going should find a way to link up.

Wow, that's a incredible lineup. I'd love to see that but I doubt I could get to Chicago. Congrats to anyone who gets to go.

I asked about this last week-ish...no news...I come to the Forums today and boom here it is! I am seriously considering going-What a lineup! Clapton and Beck alone would be worth the admission!

It would be a cool early 25th birthday present to myself...I might need to suspend my G.A.S. (and perhaps a few things I don't really need) to make it happen.

Then I could buy the DVD someday and be like...I remember when I was a guitar-playing young'n sitting in row____ watching Clapton, Beck and my other guitar heroes. Nice 8)

That certainly would be a memory. Although, from some of the footage I recall of the last Chicago concert, the location of some of the cheap seats would make even a diehard Brooklyn Dodger bleacher's veteran burst into deleted expletives  Always wondered how the front row standees are connected and whether or not they are self-insured against hearing loss.

You know, I had the same thoughts once. Back in 1958, with my nose pressed againt the glass window of "Manny's", one of the old, celebrated and now defunct music stores on West 48th Street in Manhattan. Manny's!! There was a brand new Fender Stratocaster in that window. I was sixteen then and, across the blue pond, a young kid named Eric Clapton was eleven. In both our worlds, at that time, THAT guitar was about as far away from each of us as the nearest star. Six years later, I got to own a Stratocaster, a '58. That kid across the pond.....well.....he eventually got to own one too, a '57. Mine, in time, faded into a pleasant memory. His was sold at auction for over a million bucks.

S--T HAPPENS 8)

Doc

True story there. I don't desire needing a telescope to see the musicians...however the vibe of the event would still make it cool-when will I ever be within a football field-ish length of any of these people. Being in Vermont it was nice to get Derek Trucks...we don't see that kind of talent a lot!

Has anyone gone to a concert at Toyota Park? I love Chicago and its only a 45 minute flight. But I would like to see and hear the concert.

Nice to see ZZ Top on the bill.

Maybe, maybe not. I saw them last May and they were all but rolled out in wheel chairs! Not a good show.
