Hey all, first post and im already looking for some advice ha! Im a beginner Acoustic Guitar player and ive just bought a Fender Squier SA-100 to learn with. The problem is ive bought the guitar with an Autographed scratch plate by one of my favourite bands, now obviously i want to learn how to play on this guitar but i dont want to damage the Autographs. They are signed using a Sharpie.

Now finally the question! Does anyone have any advice on how to protect the Autographs on the scratch plate from general wear and tear from playing?

Cheers, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Short of buying a replacement I dont know if you could protect it 100%, or could it be removed and laminated perhaps, :?

I'd buy a replacement plate. Wouldn't want to chance rubbing it off or scratching with belt buckel. Welcome to the forum, there's a great group of people hear with alot of knowledge. :D

Take off the pickguard with the autographs and replace it with a new one.

Other than a clear coat over the plate that will eventually wear off, I think you are doing the correct move.
