Really not what I would have expected from the guy, good surprise.

I'm starting to like Buckethead. Players like that, with their many scales and key shifts, take me a little getting used to. It took me 15 years to really like Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Joe Satriani. Still can't get into Yngwie, just too Baroque, not enough Avant Garde for my taste.

Bucket head has a touch of rough in his lines and performance that I find kind of refreshing in a guitarist of his genre. Feels slightly unpolished in the live stuff I've seen on the Tube. That's not to say unpracticed, just edgy enough to sound fresh, and like he might still practice in a garage.
