Very nice work and I just love black and white photos. For some reason they are more powerful. The first picture strikes me as modern while the second one seems like it was shot in the 60s during the Civil Rights Movement and the third looks like two women in Jamaica.= Every Picture Tells a Story.

Very good eye for human interest! Your framing, eye for detail, lighting and conveying an interesting "story" are terrific. My opinion is that the first two, especially, are award winning.

The first photo...Two Girls Against a Wall, Macon County Georgia, 1975. On the way to Florida many years ago, some SVA friends and I got stuck in Macon County...2 NY Jews and a black guy. Our car's transmission broke down and we had to wait for parts. Of course it ...was a Friday. Everywhere we went, we were stared at. Talk about fear; we spent 3 days in that county and barely moved from our hotel room except to eat. I saw these girls playing, and when I asked if I could photograph them, this is the way they put themselves. The body language says a lot about Macon County in those years. The edge curves are from the digital camera.

The second: Man in front of the Channel Gardens, Rockefeller Center 1977. Definitely a typical New Yorker. Printed on Agfa Portriga, a warm-toned paper.

The third: Two girls and their dog on the way to the well, Kars, Turkey 1981 (Ali, can you confirm that it is Kars and not Van...big old fort in the background).. Back then, there were no tourists in Turkey. I was living in Italy, and my friend and I decided to go on a photo shoot. We went from Venice to Istanbul by train, hung out in Istanbul for a while, and then continued on through the rest of the country by bus and train. Everywhere we went, people would crowd around us to get their photos taken, invite us to dinner, to spend the night at their homes...not just the Turks, but also the Kurdish. I used to have a collection of Turkish postcards, which were pretty strange. We traveled for 5 weeks and had an incredible time. I came home with lots of photos, both b&w and color slides.

I will post more as I go through them.

Wow, I love all three of them! :P The man in New York really moves me, though.

Great pics, and I'd love to see more. :D
