Solid B we are getting about 1 to 2 inches an hour, winds are 25 with gust of 40. Baltimore has phased III no vehicles allowed on roads. Carrol county has pulled all crew off due to unsafe conditions and cville here in Baltimore county , Howard county area is at a stand still.

Hey CV, I'm not picking on you or anything but I have to tell you, the Guns/Pencils banner is awesome and I agree with it completely, but I have to laugh everytime I see it because you mispelled "fourth" in your location line. don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect either, I've mispelled my fair share of words too, but I figured you might want to edit that one.

I was in Hawaii two weeks ago for work. View from my balcony:

View from my backyard today (check out the fence - the snow is almost above it):

The best thing about this is that the Federal gov't has been pretty much shut down, so I've been treated to a free vacation. But, I'm starting to go a little stir crazy. I just hope the power stays on.

That was funny did not spot that all that time. Typed and looked once and never thought about again. Thank God for spell check because my lazy typing does not help either.

I think we are at about 18" so far added to the 32" from weekend. It is surreal out side and nothing is moving. With the wind there are whiteouts at times where you can't see 20'

Thanks, In the house warm Solid B went out to check on my Honda Accord up on the cross street. Some county contracted loaders had piled snow about 12ft. high behind it so I went to check it out, seem OK. My other two Honda's and pickup Truck are out front on the street where I can see them. plows come down and cut one lane thru but pushed the snow up around the cars as usual so they will need digging out again and the lane is just 2 or 3 inches ice. so hope of salt and sunshine.

WE had another blast monday night. The ride home from work was slow and steady. When I got home my lab had to go out and take care of business, It was up to her belly. I called in that night and hung with my dog.

Funny you mention that. I always run the snow blower out into the yard to clear a couple areas for the dogs to get their "business" done.

We've been very lucky so far in 2010. Most of our snow fell before January 1 this year. There's still a good stretch of winter to go so I'm not writing off getting a major snow storm just yet. I've seen 30" snowfalls in March of many past years. The 9HP Ariens doesn't seem to mind much. 8)

Problem is where do you put it? Front end loaders have made piles at the corners 12-14 ft high then the snow from shoveling out cars and walks that are on lawns are 6-8ft high along the road. When you move a car you better mark it with a cone or someone will park in it and after 2 1/2 to 3+ hours clearing it, hell with that.
