I know, I one of the biggest mouths when it come to "Hats With Strats", but I just built a Build Your Own Clone "British Blues Overdrive" which is a clone of the Marshall "Bluesbreaker" pedal and I'll tell you what, it gets you pretty close to a SRV tone through my Egnater, 74 Champ and even my Pignose. I did change some caps per BYOC recommendations to make the pedal more single coil friendly and give the tone control a wider response. It's a pretty easy build and about 65 bucks. I like it a lot better than my Tube Screamer, seems much more transparent too.

I'm just glad I can dial out the SRV tone too for something a bit different. I won't be doing the SRV tone, but I just thought I'd pass the info along for the people who want and like his tone.

you can pick up a marshall bluesbreaker 11 for about £30-35 , i have one i use now and again and it's a pretty good pedal , jus a wee heads up if anyne fancies one

Not me, I came across it by accident. I'm not a big fan of his tone or folks who emulate him, but I know tons of people on this forum are always chasing it so I figured I clue them in. With BYOC you can learn a little about building effects and what the separate components do.
