I would actually watch his first show just to see how crazy it might get.

Hard to believe, and I would watch that for sure.

If they hired him because he would be a great judge of musical talent, having been a radio disk jockey for 30 years, they made a mistake. His show doesn't play music.

If as a great judge of humour, fart and burp jokes, female body parts, phone pranks, the human condiction etc, then yea.

As long as Seacrest is hosting, it can't get any better, IMO.

I used to be a big Stern fan but I think when he took the big money to go to satellite radio he lost two thirds of his fan base plus his TV show=more money smaller audience.

To be honest I really dont even know how qualified Simon was to judge musical skills but he is a big reason I even watch Idol. With no Simon I will say there probably will be no more Idol after two years.

as far as stern goes, i can't listen to the man. i tried to watch his show on E! years ago, but couldn't get into it. the salary he got from satellite radio was unbelievable. imho, there's no way he is worth that much. i wish they would can him. then they could cut the cost of my satellite subscription.

concerning idol, i only watch the first few weeks to see all the sorry people who just refuse to believe that they can't sing. they don't go to hollywood, and then they pitch a fit right in front of the cameras.

as a performer, i have more respct for artists who earned their success thru hard work, playing many gigs, often to drunk, jealous guys who are ticked because their girlfriend talked to the guitarist. it is much better than listening to someone who wins a contest based on voting.

just my personal view/rant

And I can't stand American Idol. I'm quite proud to say ... I've never watched it.

Cowell makes 103 Million.

Stern wants 100 Million.

I wonder what Ellen is making?

Ummm, if you never watched it, how do you know that you can't stand it? Look, if you are anti-TV in general, I respect that. I really do. Just as long as you are not flipping the channel to some God-awful crap like CSI (and that has its fans, too, that I likely just offended).

What I really like about Idol is -- at its core -- it is purely a singing competition. And any show that has the likes of Brian May, Slash, et al playing live in prime time is a welcome reprieve to just about everything else on TV (except Gordon Ramsey, he is pretty cool ... especially the non-USA BBC stuff where he is a lot more mellow).

I'm a huge fan of Stern ..... and regardless if you love him or hate him, he would probable save a dying American Idol show if Simon left

People tune in to watch Simon rip into people and be an $@!.... which would only get better with someone as controversial as Stern

But rest assured Stern haters, there is no way he would do it, cause Fox would never offer hm that amount of money especially since a lot of the season is live

Isn't it weird how people are different? See, to me ... American Idol is "God-awful crap". (although I might watch if Stern was on it, lol)

I'm sorry if my comment offended you but no need to take it personally - it is after all, just my opinion. If you love it, knock yourself out ... it's just not for me. If it makes you feel better, I've never watched CSI either.

Joe you're my Bro, so I'm not criticizing, it's just that I watched HS for about a minute when ever he started back in the 80s and that was enough of that I would rather play guitar, any guitar.
