I went to see RAIN (the beatles tribute band) the other night at the Acadmy of Music in Phila. What a show! Their act starts with the Beatles at the beginning of the British invasion and takes you right up to the end of the band's career together. At various points during the show the curtain would come down and when it came back up the group had changed costumes and their look to match that point in the bands career. Longer hair, beards etc. Even their instruments were accurate. Including the vintage Vox amps. The guy who played Paul played the bass left handed, but when he played the guitar, he played it right handed. How many people can do that? Their voices were spot on especially the guy who played John. Unbelieveable. There were three screens, one on each side of the stage and a larger one behind the stage, during the costume change breaks they would show suff that was going on at that time period. It's hard to give convay how professional the whole show was without your having been there. I'm 63 now and it was like a time travel trip for me. There were three generations of Beatles fans there and everyone had a great time. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to and I've been to quite a few. It sure didn't hurt that the venue was accoustically perfect. For those of you not familiar with Philly, this is where they do the operas and other high brow stuff. If the group is playing around your way, spend the money and buy a ticket. You won't be sorry that you did.

I watched Rain on video and was blown away with how authentic every last detail was,the George guy really nailed George's lead breaks and even Clapton's on While My Guitar Gently Weeps they're definitely the best Beatle tribute band ever assembled even topping Beatlemania which I thought was unbeatable.

According to the program guide most of the band was in Beatlemania. When "George" played "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" he got a much deserved standing ovation. He is an incredable musician. Actually they all are. What a show it was!

I saw them on a PBS special, and I also felt they were "spot-on". I went into it not expectting much, but was pleasantly surprized.
And +1 on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Nice job on the lead part Clapton's lead work on that song is one of my favorite all time guitar parts ever, and this guy pretty much nailed it.
