This is all pretty funny. First off, without the Ox and Moonie, it's not really the Who. I thought they did a great job. A little shaky at first, but it got better.
Pete's vocal were always off live as far back as I remember.

These guy are in their mid late 60's. How many people on this forum can perform that well at even a third of their age? How many of us performed in front of 75,000 screaming people. Townshend also has Tinnitus which effects your ability to hear your own vocals, at least for me anyway.
How many of us wrote any song that is still popular 40 years later?

Give me a break. You could always turn the volume down and listen to Lady Gaga instead.
I thought they did a great job.

"Like Tiger Woods being paid to use a brand of golf club, golf ball, golf shoe, hat etc. 'cept Pete never has to go to sex rehab.[/quote]"

Uh didn't Pete have a little problem with that "book" he was writing?

I started out not wanting it to be any good. But, they won me over for their effort. VH1 was running Who concert footage a little earlier in the day. So the good old days were still fresh. Like some posters stated I'd rather see HOF rockers on the down side of their careers then Lady Ga Ga, and the Black Eyed Peas. I do kinda like Taylor Swift though

I was wondering when that would come up. Some people were pretty upset about that and tried to get them kicked off the halftime show.

Maybe CC and his new band will be up to the task for next year!! Geaux CC!!! 8)
Another contender from the forum is BigJay and his band, I'm guessing the reason he has been absent around here lately is because of all the practicing he has been doing!! Talk to us BigJay!! :)

I remember that series of events very well. Didnt he come up with the worst excuse ever?

Still he dressed the part for the gig.

Funnily enough it was American investigation that caught him.

Guys, remember that these guys are approaching 70. Can any of you picture yourselves rocking like that at that age? I just hope to make it to that age.

This is true. Their not in their 20`s anymore so you have to allow for that. I give them an A for effort cause half the rockers from that era are either dead from overdoses or drank themselves into the box.

Who cares... Its Roger & Pete! Its all good.

I rather see & hear the rock show of real masters, like The Who, Boss, Stones, Aerosmith than a bunch of dancing. But Jackson's "malfunction" was nice to see :P.

Unlike so others, they arent touring full time.

GOOD ON THEM

I don't believe he was ever convicted of anything.

He wasn't. But some people get their teeth into something and just don't let go.

I didn't know much about it but here's an article about it. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 019190.ece

Many are quick to blame the band for sounding bad.

I think whoever was in charge of the soundboard is responsible. I'm sure that the compression from the TV cams had something to do with it, but maybe, just maybe they couldn't hear themselves that well in a stadium of that size?

The bass was almost un-audible.
