The Blues Junior can give you terrific tone. It's small and easy to carry around. I like the gain dialed up about 11 with the fat switch in for a fat bluesy tone. Primarily I play the Blues.

Don't think the 15 watts means 15 watts. It's tube watts. It's extremely loud. That's the only issue for me is that because I like the sound with a lot of gain it's actually hard to keep the volume down. I'm like touching the master knob gently to just nudge it to where I've got output without blowing out the neighbor's windows. I often play in an indoor-outdoor room in my house hear in CA. Neighbors seriously come up to me and are like, "you're the guy who plays that music all the time," and I'm like not sure whether I need to deny it or what. This is like a 60 year old lady. I'm not young but she could have had 20 years on me. You know, I play a lot of Blues and BB King old school blues. Anyway she wasn't going to call the cops. She was into it. She's a rocking 60-something, like the Who. Blues Junior's got a great tone, and it's clean.

Two issues with the BJ in addition to the volume. First, it's got to warm up. The tubes aren't ready to go when you flip the switch, like solid state. That's true of any tube amp. Imho, the tone is worth it, but I do play a solid state more often in the stolen moments when I can play before a new "yes dear" hits me. The Blues Junior is for when I'm going to have a little time, uninterrupted. So, you may want to pick up a GDEC also. I've got a little GDEC Jr. that I use all the time for the backing and the metronome. Second, if you do really crank it - and this now is very loud with both the master and the volume cranked - it can vibrate. The tubes are right in there with the speaker and so when you are really cranking it you can overload the little thing. It's not like a stack that can do unlimited volume. The Blues Junior is really sweet in its zone.
