Anyone catch them on SNL last night?

I dvr'd it and man, great to see Dave Grohl back where he belongs, kicking the everlovin' dogsnot out of a drum kit.

John Paul Jones (Zep) sounded pretty good too.

Cool Fender gear!

I saw them, nothing new, Queens of the Stone Age changed their name. Think Grohl should just stick with Foo Fighters.

I saw them and I think they're a fun band to watch. I like the Queens music so obviously I think that the slightly quirky sound is cool. I also like most people am a big Grohl fan. To me anyone who can play a couple of instruments is awesome since playing one is a struggle for me :D. Also I have to say that when I'm 60 I hope I look like John Paul Jones. Dude doesn't look out of place playing along side Grohl and Homme. To me they're a fun group who plays rock music like it was meant to be played. I wish more bands played with that energy.

I saw TCV last October at Stubbs in Austin, TX. Not necessarily my cup of tea, musically, but they did put on a high energy, kick a** show. At one point JPJ put on a bass with a strap that was tied from the bottom of the body to behind the nut, like I did with my first acoustic. He flipped the bass with the strings facing up and played it with a slide just like a dobro player. I thought I'd seen everything, but this was a first.

I really want to like TCV, but I can't get into it. I thought I was the only person who wasn't feeling it until I read some of the posts here. Nice to know I am not alone!

The best thing about this forum is that you can like or not like whoever you want and not get attacked for it. Music and taste are so diverse that people will disagree. If we all liked the same thing then there would be a pretty boring world of music to listen to.

Ok, Here is the wet blanket answer...LOL. I loved the music but the vocals were lost in the mix...I was really disappointed about that! As a school trained Engineer I was surprised...SNL usually is right on. But the rest of the music was fantastic!

I think the opposite, I think Grohl should stick to drumming. The Foo Fighters are okay, but I don't think people would make as big a deal about them if Dave Grohl wasn't the drummer in that other band before the Foo Fighters. They would just be one of many other sort of okay indy-punk rock inspired mainstream rock bands.

after 9 or 10 FF albums, you really think Nirvana is a part of any ones decision to buy a Foo Fighters album, I think they have grown their own fan base by now.
