I know some of you strat ultra fans have lace pups in your sticks but I'm curious to know if any of you have tried the alumitone buckers. I've come across some positive feedback in my research so far.

I originally wanted to put Gibson classic 57's in my EC-1000, but am considering the lace buckers as well. So any feedback on either would be greatly appreciated.

Sure man! Give me the run down on those hemi's!

The active EMG's on the EC are great for heavier tones, and play OK clean. I've demo'd several guitars with the Gibson 57 classics in them and love that tone. I'm just wondering it the Lace pups will be as hot as the EMG's or a little more mellow like the 57's.

Naw man, I've not even bought them yet. Just trying to decide between the alumitones and the Gibson 57's. I cant get my hands on a guitar that has em in it. Even sound clips on the alumitones are pretty hard to find.

I'm also considering installing some alumitone's on my 08 American Special Deluxe Strat. It has an HSS setup and S1 switch. I am very dissapointed with the stock single coils for the nasty hum.

I am also very dissapointed on the loss of gain when one uses distortions to lead... I use a PRS 22 Custom and a 78 BC Rich Mockingbird Supreme each with dimazio or seymor duncans and they are warm and full. The strat is great with clean sounds but lacks on the other side.

Can someone with experience fill me in on these pickups, or is there something else I might consider?
