Well let's see:

I've broken both my fourth fingers, busted two ribs, broke all my toes at one time or the other, broke my wrist and that's about it. All were sports oriented except for the wrist. I was standing on a street which was on a hill. It had just started raining and I ran down this hilly street to get shelter, slipping on an unnoticed oil slick made by a car that had been recently parked in the path of where I was running.

I use to teach Karate. My left pinky was broken at the tip, never healed right and still hurts especially in cold weather. Both thumbs have been dislocated, my middle knuckle on my right hand cracked from breaking techniques and my right pinky was and still is cracked at the middle joint. I started feeling arthritis setting in. I went back to playing the guitar and the pains went away and the dexterity in my hands came back. If it wasn`t for the guitar playing my hands would be killing me now. My best advice to anyone who takes an intrest in Martial Arts, is not to do any breaking techniques because you suffer later on in life.

There's an old saying: "New York City, only the tough survive." This was part and parcel of growing up and not really out of the ordinary. But to answer your question, since his dictatorship started, Emperor/Mayor Bloomberg taxes and fines the living 'fecal matter' out of his 'serfs' which in turn, further jacks up the already extremely high cost of living to where in our present economy and in this respect, admittedly, I wasn't tough enough to survive. I moved to Central NJ, love it here and would never go back to live in NYC ever again.

My brother broke my thumb while I was still a baby. As a result, a can not bend my thumb all the way closed. It hasn't hurt my guitar playing any. In fact, I am a hellava better picker than my big bro.
