I'm ac Professional Chef by trade, I have never tried it.
But I would love to.
I imagine marinating ang grilling it would be tasty, but I'm sure stewing it like rabbit would work too.

Yeah those guys don't carry a lot of fat. Depends how it's cooked, it's a dark meat, gamey with an almost grainey texture... Hard to describe. The other one we have here sometimes is Croc. Man, a croc steak is one of the best things you will ever taste. 8)

Hey I'm willing to try any food at least once.
Joke or not, not a bad question Floyd!
I have had Croc, it reminds me of Monkfish. I would LOVE to try Kangaroo. So the Aussies eat them ?!?!? How do they cook 'em up? ( I will refrain from making a dumb shrimp on the barbie remark)
Here in the city we eat this and that but in the rural parts of Ohio they eat squirrels, possum, groundhogs etc....

It is hard to describe different meats.

I have had Kangaroo (Jack in the Box used to use it in the early 80's in their burgers). I have also had Racoon, Bison, Cow, Pig, Deer, Squirrel, Rattle Snake, Rabbit, Quail, Chicken, and Turkey. While I was in South Korea I even had dog and cat (I did not know it was dog and cat until after the fact). I do not even want to get into different sea animals I have eaten.

Squirrel and Racoon--yuk...it was stewed
Dog and cat--are both a bit stringy
Dear and Bison--awesome
Snake and Rabbit--tastes a bit like chicken

If you are in a differnent region or country all together, always try something if offered, just try not to think of them as Bambi, Thumper, or Spot.

Hmm, groundhog...
There's a million ways to cook roo. My grandmother made a superb roo tail soup! You can get farmed Bison here too, and that hide is so freakin strong anything you make from it will last a lifetime. Never had cat or dog, but on tour in Belgium they fed us horse meat, but it was so heavily salted I've got no idea what it tastes like :!:

I've never eaten a ground hog. I've killed hundreds of them to keep them from digging in the alfalfa fields. Those holes can make short work of a tractor's front wheel if you drop into them wrong. Not to mention a nasty ride for Mr. Farmer!

I love Bison or even Beefalo hybrid. Whitetail venison is very lean and can be dry if not prepared right, best to marinade it or cut thin and cook fast.

Alas, I do not hunt any more. I get no thrill out of killing animals and I am the only person in my home that would eat wild game. I can score enough from my friends.

Phil is safe these days. 8)
