Great idea Doc,consider it done,I subscribe to several guitar mags and companies with labour practices such as Cort's should be outed.A boycott of all products produced by Cort would be a great start apparently the letter C is used in the prefix of serial No.s of Cort made guitars. If enough people pressured guitar makers to suspend all dealings with Cort it may make a difference.Several guitar makers depend on Cort for cheap copies.I certainly wouldn't mind paying a few dollars more if I could be assured that the workers got a fair shake.

Add Rickenbacker to that list, they're too big to not be mentioned  And unlike the companies above, Rickenbacker never has and never will manufacture outside of the US or have a budget line of instruments (according to their CEO).

From what I understand Carvin make all of it's products, guitars, amps, etc in the USA. I've played some of their stuff and they are pretty impressive

Hi turrican: most companies follow the Fender scheme of building their upper end models at home and their cheaper lines in the Far East. By no means are those places necessarily "sweat shops" these days, by the way. Some very good plants exist in places like Korea and China with skilled, respected workers.

Anyhow, some famous brands built in the US include: PRS, Parker, Martin, Taylor, Hamer - and many more smaller ones too numerous to name.

Don't worry: if nationality matters to you it is possible to find product from most places of your choice.

Cheers - C

Martin Guitar make it's HPL High Pressure Laminate guitars in Mexico. They moved that portion of the operation out of the Nazareth plant a couple years ago. It was a pretty bad time for the US workers.
