I was just wondering is the Clapton and Beck show that is supposed to happen this month in London still on.

Ceri or Niki I would figure you guys would know, as I have not heard anything. I hope it is because more than likely they will be playing the Garden in NY after woods like Clapton always does with a show like this. Plus I would be so freaking thrilled for Jeff, because to be honest I dont know if he ever even headlined at the Garden before. Can you even fathom that. But if it happens I will be there.

I'd love to see that, but shows like that don't get down to Florida very often; the closest is that my son and I are going to the Clapton/Daltrey show in March...I'm psyched for that; hopefully, there will be surprise guests..I'm hoping for Townsend

Hi straycat: the show is still listed for next weekend in my town, so I have no reason to think it's not happening - unless there's something I haven't heard:

http://www.theo2.co.uk/event/jeff-beck- ... 00213.html

However, despite the "book now" button on that page I was slow off the mark going for tickets when they went on sale last year and by the time I got round to it all that was a available was silly money being charged for seats at binocular distance. So I passed - frankly the DVD will give a better view. I've seen both these gentlemen before and will again - from better seats...

But to all those here who I know have tickets to shows either side of the Atlantic - enjoy!!!

Cheers - C

Here's one for you on that score. How many people do you know who had tickets on BOTH side of the ocean for the Cream Reunion? I know people who flew to UK and then saw them again in NYC. I don't doubt this will happen again with B/C.

There are people who go bonkers over stuff like that. Then there are guys like our highly esteemed and respected Florida colleagues who look at each other in the eye over lunch and exclaim..."Oh @#$#!!, tickets went on sale today and I forgot"!! :(
:P :P

Yep, I know all about that one! Done that - too many times!

Though I haven't been a member for a few years I'm still on Ronnie Scott's Club's mailing list and got advance notice of Jeff Beck's famous shows there. Thought to myself; "ooo - must get seats for that!"

And promptly forgot.

D'oh!

I did just the opposite, wrote myself a note to buy tickets for MSG (AmEx pre-sale), checked out Ticketmaster  after work, and said $%#@!! that's just too expensive to sit in nosebleed seats!, would have been a great birthday present to myself though (2/18)

Okay from what I am gathering show dates are already set for MSG and tickets went on sale already? I have to look into this now. If this is the case I still will not sweat it as I still have friends with high ranking jobs on Wall Street who get tickets for everything and now is the time for a few calls.

Skip it I made a Call and they are the 13th and 14th in the UK and 18th and 19th at MSG. Wow a week apart this is a real bummer. Now I have to see what strings I can pull on such short notice. Ughh

I've seen E.C about 6 times over the past 25 years, unfortunitly haven't seen J.B yet. Wish I had the cash, that would be the ultimate show. To all going, enjoy the show, and don't forget to post the review. :)

Time for a reality check. When it gets to the point that an artist's audience has to resort to calling in a marker for the 'priviledge' of laying out a wad of hard earned cash to obtain a ticket to attend a live performance, it's time for the old and reliable 'juice vs. squeeze' assessment of one's support for said artist.

IMHO the situation is getting way out of hand. :?

Twenty bucks more and you can buy a Line 6 Spyder 75, or some other neat gear! Sit back and wait for the concert to turn up on YouTube or a DVD release. We've even a glimpse of none other than our own Ceri and his wife in the audience at the Bonamassa Albert Hall gig.

I've never seen either of them live, but I was over a frends about a week ago and there was a Jeff Beck concert on Comcast (cable TV) at his house. Clapton joined Jeff toward the end of the show and they did a few tunes together. They were excellent. I was amazed at Jeff's playing style. He rests his right hand on the tremelo arm of his guitar and strums/picks with his thumb. Wow! I tried it but it's kind of difficult for me. I guess I need some more practice. Anyway it was definitly cool. I'd love to have seen it live but the TV version was still a lot of fun.
