I said this to floyd in another topic....

mines about 99% drug addicts alchohol drinking ferals and sex addicts. Its outa control, the teachers dont give a damn about what happens to the student. Like the other day, I dropped my stuff and i bent down to pick it up, and this kid just ran up to me and kicked me in the ribs as hard as he could, I was in lots of pain, and there were about 5 teachers around, and they didnt care (he actualy broke my ribs...). Nearly every person I walk past gives me a dead arm, they beat you up for your lunch money. Classes are bad aswell, its so loud and everyone is not paying attention to what the teachers saying (Dont get me wrong, I really hate school, its just the amount of stress it causes), that makes them yell, thats makes me think, "Oh god, how could I be living??". And the worst thing is, when the drug addicts brake the rules, the teachers do nothing about it, but when "clean" people brake it they get a half hour detention after school. I've been going to detention like nearly everyday, mostly for nothing.....Oh, and guess what? It ranked 4th worst school in australia.

Anyway how bads yours? (if you go to one)

mines not that bad, i mean youve got people bragging about how they do pot and drink and have sex with, but its just talk so idk if they really do it but, i dont associate myself with that type of crowd. there are no fights or bathroom drinking, smoking, or sex. Just your average high school lol

We bought our current Home so that my son would go to the school in which he graduated from two years a go. It has been ranked in the top 100 public High schools in the US several times the last ten years. We also live in a community where the neighborhood is built on the former property of a all girls private school that was built in 1852 and is still going strong and serves as our community anchor . It was run by the Visitation Sisters until 25 years ago and now the Sisters of Saint Cecelia. At one time it was the largest all brick building in the U.S. Now at the current time student teacher ratio is 11 : 1 and the students they say are from 73 different schools in 70 different zip codes. They told us last year every student that graduated received scholarships. Not a cheap or easy school to get into though.

The pupils in our school aren't the issue (asside from the occasional nob)
Its the staff, heres a list of stupid detentionable offences:

Top button being undone
Being late 3 times in a term
Shirt being Untucked
Wearing the wrong kind of shoes
Hair being too short
Locking doors
Having hair of an un-natural colour.

And R.E. is compulsory for GCSE, no other school has that.

Well I'm gonna come clean here. I'm a teacher. How terrible for you to have to attend such an awful school. It sounds totally dreadful - I have to ask why have your parents not moved house nearer to a better school? I used to work in industry earning serious money but got made redundant the only option for me was to send my son to a local school which was pretty much the same as the one you describe. He was in private education prior to that. Morally I couldn't justify sending him to that hell hole. I sold my house and we moved to another location nearer to a better state school. I then got a job as a teacher in the same school my son attended. Maybe your circumstances are such that this is impossible. Whatever, those teachers are negligent in the extreme no matter how stressed they may be they have a duty to act in loco parentis and are probably breaking the law by ignoring acts of violence in the school premises. There are places and people that can help you and advise you though. I am not fully aware of how Australia implements its educational systems but I guarantee you that someone will be able to help. In the meantime you keep strong.

School can suck, but its training for life. Dealing with people you don't like, doing stuff you don't want to do...you think schools bad, life after school is pretty much the same at times...

A big part of out of control students are their parents. If you don`t repremand your kids when their young they turn into a problem later on.

Mines actually pretty good. No one does drugs, the school is one of the best in the district, I'm in one of the best orchestras in the state. Life's good.

P.S. Sorry about your ribs. :(

Hope you can get to a better school.

I would go to the private school, but the only thing keeping me at that hell hole is my friends.

Our school is pretty dangin' good, I have to say. With me and my sis having our first ever school experience in September of last year, coming from being home schooled all our lives, high school ain't really that bad. I mean, the homework is a drag, but other than that, it's pretty okay.

Of course, there's that little group of kids who smoke pot, and you hear talk about what some of the seniors did over the weekend *cough, cough*, but it's really a good place to be.

Yep, my sis and I were both home schooled all our lives. Well, like I said before, up until September of last year. :P

Kids always say how lucky we were to be home schooled, but, really, it was pretty dangin' boring. I mean, we still had friends and all that, but it was just really....BORING!! :P I don't know how else to say it other than that, really. :P
A typical school day for us was about three hours long, because it was just my sis and I, and we didn't have to wait for the whole classroom-full of kids to finish whatever we were doing. That's one of the few drawbacks of school--it takes up too much of your time. :P
